Short  Chapter

There in the room stood the little girl. The same exact pigtails. Same coat. Mitch immediately felt sorrow, sick, and frozen.

Charlotte.

She just stood there.  She didn't look harmed in any way. She looked at Mitch with that same fear in her eyes as the moment they met.

Except now Mitch was showing it as well.  He cared so much for her.

In a way he felt defeated.  And yet a very faint feeling of relief to see her again.

"Mitchie."  Charlotte smiled.  Her voice was the same tiny, high pitched.

"Are you okay?"  Mitch asked all of the sudden.  Charlotte giggled.

"Yes!  Mitchie, I missed you!"  She ran up to him with her arms extended.  Mitch opened his, but before she could hug him, she vanished.

Mitch looked around.  Everywhere.  But wherever he looked, she wasn't there.  He backed up to the door.

Sadness and defeat rushed through him.  He'd missed her so much.  His eyes filled with tears, but he fought them off and stood up.

He bit his lip trying to put two and two together, but couldn't.  Not to say he wasn't terrified.

It was surely the most terrifying experience of his life.
