I KNOW I'M FINE, FOR NOW

I walked into the coffee shop and saw a familiar black haired kid sitting at one of the tables.
I snuck up on him and tapped his shoulder.
He jumped slightly, which made me laugh.
"Be aware, Sinasac." I teased and he scoffed.
"You don't wanna start this. You'll regret it, Allison." He teased back, using my full name.
"Spicy." I joked and he laughed.
I sat down next to him and we continued joking, until he addressed the obvious elephant in the room.
"So what happened... at the party?" He casually tried to mention.
My breath hitched and I felt my eyes widen.
"I- uh...I don't know, to be honest." I hesitated, but finally spoke out.
"Oh." He said, understanding I didn't want to speak about it.
"Michael, thank you." I said, without meaning to say it aloud.
"For what?" He asked me in confusion.
"For being an amazing friend." He smiled at my compliment.
"You're nice and sweet, even when I'm in the worse state and I know we fell off but you were trying to fix it. I'm sorry for talking shit at the party and arguing with you. I missed you and I guess I felt betrayed, at the time. Thanks for being a dummy and being there with the right stuff at the right time." I said and hugged him.
He hugged back, a little tighter.
"Jeez, Sinasac. I'm choking here." I joked.
"Hate to be awkward here, but that's what she said." He replied while we continued to softly hug each other.
The coffee shop door opened and snapped us both out of our hug.
Dante and Audrey?
He obviously saw me hugging Michael.
I turned away and ignored him.
"I don't want anything here, Michael. How about we go to the movies?" I offered.
I wasn't bothered with seeing them together.
I decided it was definitely time for me to move on.
But I didn't really like coffee or doughnuts.
"Sure, babe." He joked and stood up, offering me his hand.
"Oh, thank you fine sir." I joked and took his hand.
"Fine? That I am." He smirked and softly tugged me towards the door.
His touch was so soft and gentle, almost as if he was touching fragile glass.
His smile was soft and gentle.
His hair? Don't get me started on that heavenly thing.
"Don't get full of yourself, Sinasac." I said, jokingly.
"Hey, Ally." I heard Audrey's voice call out.
"Hey, Audrey." I said and politely smiled.
Dante turned around towards us.
He saw me and Michael holding hands.
"Hey, D." I said and waved my free hand at him.
Michael remained silent.
"Hey, Allison." Dante replied.
"Well, me and Michael were just about to head off to the movies. Bye, guys." I said and walked off, still holding his hand.
