Church Wedding

"Gusto kita." She said

"Gusto rin kita." I said

"Gusto ko tayo magpapakasal kapag malaki na tayo ha?" She replied

"Sige ba, promise?"

"Promise"

I was 8 years old while she's 7 years old when we made a promise to each other.

"Sana talaga sa simbahan ako ikasal, ang saya saya siguro sa feeling yun noh?" She, Maricar, asked me.

"Oo nga. Kahit naman ako magiging masaya kapag kinasal din ako sa simbahan. Lalo na kung ikaw yung bride." I whispered the last sentence to myself.

"Ha? May sinasabi ka ba?"

"Wala." I replied

"Nako! Mag best friend pa man din tayo tapos naglilihim ka, masama yan Kyle."

Two years ago, she suffered amnesia because of a car accident. She forgot our promises to each other.

I was 14 years old back then while she's 13 years old when she just called me 'her best friend'.

"Tanda mo pa ba yung sinabi mo sa'king gusto mo sa simbahan ikasal?" I asked her.

"Oo naman bakit?" She asked back.

"Gusto ko sana'ng itanong sayo kung... kung pwedeng manliga--"

Napahinto ako sa pagsasalita nang makita kong napasulyap siya ng tingin sa pinsan ko at parang hindi na nakikinig sakin.

"Kilala mo yun?" She asked me while not leaving her stares to my cousin.

"Yes, he's my cousin" At tsaka lang siya napalingon sakin na manghang-mangha.

"Talaga? Anong pangalan bilis?" Excited niyang tanong.

I was 19 years old while she's 18 years old when I was about to ask her permission to court her. And that time also, she said to me that she likes my cousin.

"Yes! Sa wakas! Matutupad na yung gusto ko Kyle!" She's hugging me. "Salamat Kyle, salamat." I hugged her back.

"Your welcome. Congratulations." I said holding back my tears.

"Kung hindi dahil sayo wala ako dito ngayon at hindi ikakasal. Salamat sa pagpapakilala sakin nung pinsan mo, hihihihi." She said.

I was 25 years old while she's 24 years old when I saw her happy marrying my cousin.

I was 25 years old while she's 24 years old when I'm happy outside but broke inside.
