The Café

A few weeks passed and Taehyung couldn't help but feel slightly disheartened that he didn't get anything back from Jungkook. He walked into his father's company, taking the elevator up to his father's office. He walked in and saw a man standing in front of his father.

They both looked at him as he walked in. He recognised Mr Jeon immediately.
He bowed to him shortly and then to his father making sure to hold the second bow longer.
"Good morning Mr Jeon, Good morning Mr Kim" he greeted, he had to call his father 'Mr Kim' while other people were with him to keep professionalism as his father was technically his boss.

"Good morning Taehyung, take a seat" His father gestured to a smaller desk near his own. Taehyung sat in it and looked up at Mr Jeon who was staring at them both. Mr Jeon looked a lot like Jungkook, the had the same nose, the same jet black hair but Jungkook definitely had his mother's eyes. Mr Jeon's eyes were sharper, less rounded, and seemed to be colder than Jungkook's.

"So as I was saying, Mr Kim, I will not tolerate you taking this offer away from us"
"Unfortunately, Mr Jeon, I am unable also to let this offer slip away and I will be sure to get it"
"Mr Kim, this offer was mine to begin with"
"But if you can't keep up with it then it can easily be taken away from you. Are you getting old, Mr Jeon?" His father asked calmly and Taehyung gulped as Mr Jeon got angrier.

Mr Jeon stepped forward and slammed his hands on the desk making Taehyung jump.
"I will not put up with this level of disrespect!" He shouted.
Mr Kim got up too so as to not be towered over by Mr Jeon "and what makes you think I will put up with your behaviour in my company"
Mr Jeon glared at his father before his gaze shifted to the side to Taehyung who felt small under his icy stare.

"You think this boy is going to manage to take over your company? Good luck with that, Jungkook will run this company to the ground under his rule" Mr Jeon commented.
"Is that a threat?" His father asked, his voice dangerously quiet.
Mr Jeon looked back at his father "it's a promise"
"Not all promises are kept. Now get out or I'll get security to see to you and that's not a promise, that's a threat"

Mr Jeon scoffed before storming out of the office.
"Taehyung!" His father barked.
"Yes, papa?" Taehyung replied.
"Why didn't you stand up for yourself, you cannot let the Jeons walk all over you. Do you understand?"
"Yes, papa" Taehyung sighed, getting on with his work.

When lunchtime creeped up, Taehyung got up cracking his back "I'm going for lunch papa, do you want to join me?"
"I wish I could Taehyung but I've got more work to do. Enjoy your lunch"
"Thank you, papa"

Taehyung walked to a small café near the company. He stepped in and ordered his lunch. The cashier got what he wanted and put in a small bag for him to takeaway. He thanked her, making sure to leave a tip and was ready to go back to the office to eat while probably going over more files. That was before he heard his name being called.

He turned round to see Jungkook waving him over. He hesitantly walked over.
"Hello" Jungkook smiled.
"Hi" Taehyung replied shyly.
"Would you like to join me? I see you are on your own and I am too. Isn't it just depressing eating alone?"
Taehyung nodded and sat in the seat across from Jungkook.

Taehyung unpacked his food and began eating.
"So, how has your day been?" Jungkook asked him.
"It's been okay, how about you?"
Jungkook hummed "it's been fine. My father was not in the best mood after returning home from your company. Something about Mr Kim calling him old?"
Taehyung nodded.
"He didn't say anything to you did he?" Jungkook asked, his brow furrowing ever so slightly.
"H-he just told my father I wasn't suited to run the company" Taehyung said cursing himself for stuttering.
"I'm not surprised he said that. Don't take it to heart, you'll be fine, he's just intimidated"
Taehyung smiled slightly "he told me you would destroy my company when I'm in charge"

Jungkook smiled at him, with his charming, bunny-toothed smile "as if I could ever do that to someone as cute as you"
Taehyung blushed profusely but his father's voice came into his mind telling him that the Jeons can't be trusted. No matter how much he wanted to trust Jungkook he couldn't let his guard down. This was business, it's not uncommon for someone to butter the other up just to take over their company.

He felt something soft on his mouth and he looked up to see Jungkook dabbing at his face.
"You got some food there" Jungkook told him.
"Oh thank you" he mumbled "uh, Jungkook? I don't think we should be doing this"
Jungkook's brow furrowed in confusion and he looked unbelievably like his father making Taehyung gulp "what do you mean?" Jungkook asked.
"Sitting here, talking to each other without our parents permission"
"And what's the problem with that? We're both adults"
"But what about the feud?"

"Let me ask you something, Taehyung, do you hate me?"
Taehyung stared at him for a moment before shaking his head "of course not"
"Do you hate my family?"
"N-no?"
"So what's the issue? I don't believe in the feud. In my opinion something happened very long ago and no one can accurately depict to me exact facts which means it's outdated. At this point it's a myth, don't you agree?"
Taehyung nodded.

Jungkook checked his watch that was glittering on his wrist "I'm afraid I must cut this meeting short, Taehyung, but I must be getting back to the office"
"May I ask why you came to this café when Jeon enterprises is all the way across town"
"Maybe I was looking to bang into a certain someone" Jungkook winked "same time tomorrow?"
Taehyung nodded a blush apparent on his cheeks as Jungkook walked out.

Okay, maybe he hadn't planned to meet Taehyung at that café, he just wanted a break from his everyday schedule but he was glad to meet him. Taehyung intrigued him so much, he hadn't changed much from when he was younger, he still held the shy innocent look in his eyes. He still was Mr Kim's double but he had kept his softer features that Jungkook had been so sure would've faded as he got older. He was beautiful, that was something Jungkook was certain of.

He smiled to himself as he arrived back at his father's company. He walked through the doors making his way to his office. He arrived and saw his father sitting at his desk.
"Where were you?" His father asked.
"I decided to go for lunch in a café across town, it gets good reviews"
Jungkook's father hummed "is there anything else you care to tell me Jungkook?"
Jungkook furrowed his brows in confusion "what do you mean?" His heart began to beat a bit faster, hopefully his father didn't know he was hanging around Taehyung or he would for sure be punished in some way.

"Jimin told me that you weren't interested in girls, care to elaborate?"
Jungkook gulped, this was worse "he just means that I'm not really interested in looking for anyone currently which I know you want me to do but I'm sorry father I'm just not ready"
His dad looked at him suspiciously before sighing "Jungkook, son, I know it's scary but always keep your mind open to the possibility" he paused for a moment "and Jungkook? Seriously if there is anything you need to talk about. I want you to come to me, I'm your father any decision you make I'll support, okay?"

"What do you think dad?" Jungkook chuckled, he barely ever called his father 'dad' but he hoped that it would release the tension in the room which it seemed to. His father stood up, laughing a bit to himself as well "I don't know, I feel like you're hiding something from me"
"Of course not" he lied.

Hey guys sorry this chapter is a day late but I just got a bit carried away yesterday and forgot to publish it. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
