Changing The Past.

The past is the past for a reason
That is where it is supposed to stay
But some people cannot let it go
In their heads it wearies them

Until all their focus becomes
The person that they used to be
The good things they've lost
Or the people that have left their side

Until all they think about
Is everything that has gone wrong in their life

The mistakes they made
Oh, if only they could see
That you cannot change what has happened

No matter how hard you try
No matter how much you think about it
No matter how much tears you shed

What happens in your lifetime
Happens for reasons unknown
So you have to let the cards unfold

Let your story be shown
Don't get stuck in the negative
Be happy for what you have
Get up and stand on your feet
For you have been down for far too long

Start living in the present
Because the past is in the past
It's been and now it's gone

So don't you waste your precious time
Trying to think of inexistent ways to change it
It's done ; it's unchangeable ; move on.
