Our five hour flight from Port Orchard to Charleston was short but exhausting. I almost missed our flight making a detour in the way to the airport. As soon as we landed, we checked in at the hotel and changed clothes. I made a few phone calls myself, and Janelle got in touch with her contact. Bria had left her phone on and they were able to pinpoint her location while we were mid-flight. I had showered and changed clothes. Luckily I'd brought some summer wear with me because it was a lot warmer here than our little home town.

I took a quick shower and tried calling Bria again but she still wasn't answering. My frustration was growing thin and I was tired of all of the running. I would fight for her until the day I died, but this leaving with no explanation shit is growing tired. I turned the water off and walked back to the suite bedroom. I got dressed, putting on my khaki linen pants and loose fitting shirt and reached for my phone, at the same time it started ringing.

"Darien."

"Hey man, you ready? We're down in the lobby waiting."

"I just got dressed, just need to put my shoes on and I'll be right down." I grabbed my phone, wallet and watch, and left the room. The elevator was quiet. No music, so I was left alone with my thoughts once again. I was worried she'd left for good, Iwas thinking of who this man she was with and why she was with him. What importance did he hold that she felt the need to just up and leave.

Ding- Lobby

I exit the elevator walked over to my brother and his new wife sitting on the burgundy couch in the lobby. I snuck up behind Darien and put him in a headlock. "Ahhahaha! Who's the strongest? Admit it?!"

"Damn it Noah, stop messing around and let's go!"

"Ohhhh little brother you're going to pay for that later. Watch your back." Darien says, throwing a punch into my arm after I release him from my grasp. We departed the hotel and got into our rental car. I started flipping through my Spotify and put in my ear buds. I had no idea what I was going to say to her. But I needed to know one thing: why the constant running? Why doesn't she open up to me when things get hard for her?

After a twenty minute drive, I felt the car come to a stop in front of a large white and grey house, nestled along the beach. Darien and Janelle both got out of the car and walked to the front door while I composed myself. I took in a deep breath and exited the car and joined my brother and sister-in-law at the front door. As Janelle rang the doorbell, I began to feel somewhat nervous and I got a hot flash that made my palms clammy.

"It's ok brother, just be cool." As he spoke those words to me, the door opened and the man the love of my life was last seen with was standing in front of me. I couldn't speak and felt somewhat intimidated by this man.

"I take it you're here for Bria, I'm Cameron. She's been resting but mentioned walking down to the beach when she wakes. And I'm sure you want an explanation but I think it'd be best explained by her."

"Well, do you mind if I checked on her? I've been worried sick and she hasn't been answering any of my calls."

"Of course, her guest room is down the hall and to the left. If she isn't there, the patio door leads to the beach." I walked through this man's home, seeing how beautiful everything was. Photos of him and what looks to be his family on a mantle near the kitchen. It was pretty quiet as I walked down the hallways to where Bria was supposed to be. More family photos lined the hallway, I noticed a few diplomas from H.B.C.U Spellman University and Morehouse School of Medicine. Something about being a doctor must be amazing to Bria.

I found her guest room and on the other side of the door, it was quiet. I could hear darien, Janelle and Cameron in the front end of the house talking. I rested my forehead on the door and took a deep breath then knocked. I got no answer so I slowly opened the door, hoping to not startle her in case she were asleep, but she wasn't here. I noticed the curtain pulled back on the patio door and decided to try to find her on the beach.
