"End it, Clio." His voice, uncharacteristically soft and melodic, urged. "The rogues will not stop and submit without my death. I am the image that holds them together."

The wolves hesitated. I hesitated. Moon loved Fenris, Manhatten loved Atlas and I loved Michael.

I loved him...

...and that's why I snapped his neck.

I watched as the life drained out of his eyes. The sweet smile that he held now looked twisted and cruel as if somebody had defiled his body.

I slowly backed away from his body, not realizing that the fighting had stopped. Not realizing that everyone had stopped to watch. All I could do was stare at the wolf I had confessed to loving and moments later killed.

And somehow, all three of us spoke as one. "He is dead."

Everyone repeated the statement. "He is dead."

The rogues bowed in submission as the pures howled in delight and victory. All I could do was watch my mates body be defiled by the others and

I

Did

Nothing.
