Shawn's P.O.V

So today my girlfriend is coming over to a family dinner. She's met my parents before and they love her so does my sister. When Y/N gets round me and her go into my room for a bit and just talk and cuddle. We love to talk. Our relationship is based off communication because with out it this would be a bad relationship. We tell eachother everything because that way we then know what is wrong with eachother and can help cheer up.

She was my girl. She was gorgeous and always knew the right thing to say and she was just perfect and I love her so much. While cuddling I played with her hair because I knew how much she lived it. We decide to go downstairs and cuddle on the couch. We were on out own for a bit until aaliyah comes on the room.

"Aww you guys are so cute." She says gushing making Y/N giggle her cute giggle making me smile.

"Thanks liyah." She says softly.

"Hey kids dinners ready." My dad said.

We all get up and go into the dining room. Y/N sits next to me and underneath the table I take her hand and she doesn't objects she wraps her fingers around mine.

They all make conversation with her. They are always interested in how she's doing and what's going on in her life which is great because they like her as much as I do except I love her.

After we finish she helps my mum to clean up and my dad asks if he can talk with me privately which I agree too.

"What's up dad?"

"I wanna talk about Y/N."

"Ok is everything ok?"

"More than ok son but I just want to talk about her. Tell me how you feel about her son."

"Oh dad she's amazing. She's so kind and she's just really lovely. She has a smile that could light up the whole world. The littlest things she does makes my heart beat so fast and make my stomach flutter. Whenever someone mentions her name I smile instantly. I'm so happy she is mine and I love her so so much that I don't even have any words to describe how much."

"That's what I thought."

"What do you mean dad?"

"I mean I see the way you act around her and you are a true gentleman. I can see the way you look at her and it's full of live and I'm telling you now son that's exactly the way I looked at your mum and I still look at her I can tell this love is meant to last Shawn she is the one for you."

"She is? She is! How did I not realise this before."

"I don't know son but you need to tell her now that she's the one for life."

"Ok." I say and run to Y/N.

"Y/N I need to tell you something."

"Ok what's wrong?"

"My dad made me realise you were are the one Y/N the one for life."

"I am?"

"Yeah and that's why I have a question to ask." He gets on his knee.

"I don't have a ring right now but I will get one I promise.  I love you so much and I want to be with your for the rest of my life. You are the one so will you marry me?"

"Yes Shawn a million times yes."

I get up and pick her up and spin her around and then kiss her.

"I love you Shawn."

"I love you too."

She was the one.
