14. story time

Shawn P.O.V

It was a Sunday me and the guys decided to go to the café this morning and get some hot drinks. I hear the bell of the door meaning that someone just walked into the café. It was a group of girls that looked my age. But only one of them caught my eye. She was smaller than all the others. I don't know what is what but something about her made me drawn to her. They all sat down but her she went to get drinks and I could hear her speak to the barista. Her voice was so angelic. The guys started to notice that I was staring and looking at her every move. "Shawn....hey Shawn....earth to Shawn!" I suddenly looked at him. "Um yeah what's up?" "Why are you staring at that girl?" My face turns red "I don't know she just caught my attention and is somehow making me really nervous." They all start saying "awww Shawn has a crush." Over and over again.

Twenty minutes later....

All of her friends leave her now and she is on her own. I decide to go up to her after five minutes of wondering whether I should or not. I pluck up the courage and go over.

"hi" I say. She looks up and her eyes meet mine. "Hi can i help you?"
"Yeah I was wondering whether I could sit with you, you looked lonely." I say looking down at my hands that are shaking. "Yeah you can I could use the company seen as my friends left. I'm Y/N by the way." "I'm Shawn." "Yeah I know who you are but don't worry I'm not going to freak out unless you want me to." Then we both chuckle. God her laugh was cute. "No I don't really want you to freak out it will draw attention to me then I would have to kill you." You say jokingly and she laughed. We both talk for longer and then she says "as much as I want to stay I really have to go now."
"Yeah that's fine but Y/N?" "Yeah?" "Can i get your number before you go?" I then look at my hands again. God she's got me so nervous. "Of course you can Shawn I was going to ask you for your number anyway. I had a great time talking to you and honestly you caught my eye when I walked in here." I am shocked I caught her eye like she caught mine. "That's funny because when you walked in you caught my eye and I was so nervous. I'm happy to know that you feel the same way." I gave her my number and then we hugged goodbye.

A few weeks later I asked her out on a date. I took her to a rooftop with an amazing view. I set up fairy lights and a picnic. She loved it and what I loved the most was the fact that her eyes lit up at what I did for her. I tell her how I feel and her says it back. When I know she feels the same way as me all my nervousness disappears and I just lean in to kiss her. She kisses back after that I ask her out and she says yes.

"So that is how you met mummy, daddy?" You little girl 7 year old daughter skylar says looking up at me.
"Yes hunny that's how we met."
"I liked that story daddy. It's my favourite one you have told about me."
Y/N walks in "skylar that's my favourite story to." She sits down on the bed next to me and our daughter. "Okay skylar it's time for bed now hun ok night sky love you." Y/N says and then kisses her on the head. I say good night and we both leave the room. I grab Y/N and kiss her. "I love you so much hun." "I love you to Shawn." I couldn't be any happier with my gorgeous wife and beautiful daughter. If i hasn't of gone to that café that day I wouldn't have met her and my life wouldn't have been so great.
