Chapter 7

❥ Rose's POV -

"Well my father died a couple years ago in a tragic car accident' I say softly looking down at my feet.

"I'm so sorry Rose" Shawn's says comforting me by rubbing my shoulder. "It's fine really my mum got remarried and now i have a stepdad." "He's nice to you?" he questions.

I hesitate.

"Yeah. Yes. Yes he is."

I know i should of told him the truth but i haven't told anyone the truth before. I hardly know Shawn. I only met him just yesterday. He doesn't need to know the truth just right now.

"Well that's good" he smiles.

I smile back as food arrives. "Oh yum this looks amazing" I say, licking my lips looking down at the bacon, toast and eggs.

"It's on me" he says smiling at me.

"No no no i can pay it's completely fine" i reply back.

"No i insist Rose. It really is on me."

"Well if you insist." We dig into our food when a song plays through the speaker which Shawn laughs to.

"What's so funny?" I ask confused.

"It's my song lol, There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" he giggles.

"Oh right, sorry the only song i know of yours is In My Blood."

We finish eating and he pays for both our meals. I thank him for the meal then we walk out into the city.

"Wow this place really is beautiful" I say to Shawn.

"Yeah it is, i love being home. Don't get me wrong touring is great but the best place in the world is home." He grins looking down at me.

He's so damn tall i have to look up so high to see his face but it's the most handsome face i've ever seen on a man.

The rest of the day is just laughs and giggles as he shows me around the city. We get back into the car around 1pm and he drives me back to my dorm.

"Thank you so much for today Shawn" i say to him as we pulled up outside my uni.

"It was fun" he replied, placing his hand on top of mine.

My heart stops and i feel a sensation take over my body. We stare into each others eyes for a moment but then he coughs and looks away.

"Goodbye Rose" Shawn says one last time as i leave his car.

"See you next time!" I wave and he drives off.

My first class started tomorrow so at the moment i had the rest of the day off. I didn't really have anything to do.

I sit on my bed staring outside the window and flashbacks start haunting me of David. Every month. 22nd. 11pm.

It's like a never ending nightmare. The walls start closing in and my heart beat starts to race. As i start to feel light headed, i start to loose control and my head falls back onto my pillow.

I felt like i was about to faint. I was having another anxiety attack. I don't know how but small things like just having alone time triggers these memories.

I pickup my phone and call Shawn. He was the first person i could think of.

I can hardly talk and my breathing was heavy but i tried my best to form words.

"Shawn I - i think i'm going to fai-n-t" I whimper out.

"Rose I can't hear you? Rose are you ok?" I hear Shawn's voice slowly fade away as everything turns

black.
