The 'Un' Attached String

Chapter - 7

M : "Hullo Bulbul!!"

By that time, Bulbul was in tears out of extreme anger.

B : "Daddy kya aap phir se shaadi karne waale ho?"

M : "Beta ye bohot complicated hai main aapko samjha nehi paaunga."

B : "Nothing is complicated daddy, ya to ha hai ya phir na. Yes or no!!"

M : "No... I mean...yes!!"

B : "Main samajhti thi aap aise nehi ho lekin aap bhi bilkul mamma jaise hi ho. Sab khud ko lekar bethe hai, meri to kisiko fikar hi nehi hai. Main to aap dono ke liye exist hi nehi karti hu. Main aaj ke baad aapse kabhi bhi baat nehi karungi. I hate you daddy!!"

M : "Beta meri baat suno aap...Bulbul...please!!"

Saying Bulbul disconnected the phone and Maahir closed his eyes out of helplessness. He was so mad at himself for not telling Bulbul about Anu though Kuhu had previously warned about that. He was so upset that he blurted out his anger on Anu. He put the phone on the table and angrily asked Anu,"Tumne mera phone kyu uthaya Anu?" Anu replied,"Mujhe Bulbul ke baare mein sab kuch pata hai ke kaise ye larki tumhe kar roz pareshaan karti hai aur kis tarah se usne tumse baat karne ke liye pura office apne sar par utha kar rakkha hua tha." Maahir was curious and asked,"Tumhe kaise pata maine to tumse kabhi kuch nehi kaha aur Kuhu aur Rohit to kabhi kahenge nehi?" Anu wrapped her arms around Maahir's shoulder and replied,"Because I care about you and you are about to be my husband so apne hone waale husband par nazar to rakhni hi parti hai." Maahir unwrapped himself and replied,"Uske baavajud bhi mera phone uthaane ka tumhe koi haq nehi tha because you know I love my privacy aur by the way jab tumhe tumhaare informer ne itna sab kuch bata diya hai Bulbul ke baare mein to ye bhi to tumhe pata hoga ke vo hai kaun." Anu gave a confused look to Maahir from which he understood that she don't know anything else. Maahir took a deep breath and said,"Main tumhe sab kuch bataana chahta tha par main tumhaare waapas aane ka intezaar kar raha tha. Jaise ke tum jaanti ho ke hamaari shaadi hone waali hai to main tumse aaj kuch chupaaunga nehi because you deserve to know." Anu became tensed and asked,"Aakhir baat kya hai Maahir?" Maahir replied,"Tumhaare apni cousin ki wedding mein jaane ke baad meri life mein bohot kuch badal gaya hai. Ye jo ek larki ne phone kiya tha mujhe jiska phone tumne uthaya tha vo larki..." He took a deep breath and replied,"Meri beti hai...Meri aur Bela ki 8 saal ki beti Bulbul Maahir Sehgal." Anu was shocked on hearing that and yelled,"What???" Maahir nodded his head and replied,"Ha ye larki meri beti hai aur mera paas iska saboot bhi hai vo photographs jo usne mujhe bheje the." Anu, in a hysterical manner, said,"Par Maahir photographs to morph bhi kiye ja sakte hai na aur waha jaakar bhi to Bela ka koi..." Maahir replied,"No... Mujhe Bulbul ka date of birth pata hai aur uska janam Bela ke yaha se jaane ke 7 mahine baad hua hai jiska matlab ye hai ke Bela India chorne se pehle 2 mahine pregnant thi so very naturally Bulbul meri hi beti hai. Mujhe khud ko Bulbul ke baare mein kuch bhi nehi pata tha kyuki Bela ne mujhe apni pregnancy ke baare mein kabhi bhi kuch bhi nehi bataya tha aur Bulbul ne 8 saal baad mujhe dhundh kar nikaala hai aur usine mujhe contact kiya tha. Pehle mujhe bhi yakeen nehi hua tha but now I know everytning. Usko bhi tumhaare baare mein kuch pata nehi tha and now that she knows, mujhe nehi pata hai ke vo mujhse dubaara baat karegi bhi ya nehi." Anu looked at Maahir in disbelief and asked,"Tumhe abhi bhi uski pari hai meri nehi? Tum samajh bhi pa rahe ho ke tumhaare life ke itne bare sach ke vajah se meri life mein kitna bara toofaan aaya hai?" Maahir replied,"Main jaanta hu aur samajh bhi raha hu kyuki main khud is daud se guzar chuka hu lekin is vajah se main tumhe andhere mein nehi rakh sakta tha aur zyaada ghuma phira kar baat karne ki mujhe aadat bhi nehi hai so... aur ek important baat ye hai ke filhaal meri life ki prime priority meri bachchi hai aur uske liye main kuch bhi kar sakta hu kyuki main usse bohot pyar karta hu aur maine decide bhi kiya hai ke main puri koshish karunga ke vo hamesha ke liye mere paas aa sakey." Anu was standing still and drops of tears fall from her eyes and when Maahir moved a step forward to pacify Anu she stopped him and slowly walked outside of his cabin in a trance. Maahir at last gave a sigh of relief thinking that at last he was able to tell everything to Anu about Bulbul as it removed a weight from his conscience but at the same time was worried thinking what would be Bulbul's reaction.
