For all the new readers I've changed this book series name to 'the shadow' so if you the old name of the book 'the mafia' ignore it I'll try to change it as fast as possible, I was a kid when I wrote these books so some things may not add up but I'll try to fix it or some things may seem a bit confusing but i promise it's worth the read ! Hello , my name is Mia Sanchez , I'm 16 and I grew up in Florida. My life is pretty normal I'm the only child , lived with my dad and parents divorced.

until one day my dad and me were in a terrible accident and I made it ..but he didn't . So I moved to long wood a small town with my mom . We moved into a new house and don't know how it's going to be from now on , but I'm ready to find out .

MIA'S POV

My alarm goes off on my dresser  , I slowly open my eyes and get up from my comfortable bed and turn off my alarm.

I go to my bathroom and I look in the mirror , I see my dad in me..I miss my dad so much. I wish that day never happened..I snap out of my day dream and head to the shower .

After I'm done showering I get out and put on my clothes I'm wearing to my new school .

I head downstairs and go to the kitchen to find my mom cooking for us , Maybe if they didn't get a divorce and we stayed together that night would've never happened .

"Mia?" I look up to see my mom looking at me with concern " you okay sweetie ?" I give her a slight smile

"Yeah, I'm okay." I try to say those words convincing as possible. I don't want to worry her .

I have these episodes when I go into deep thought, it's like I'm in my own world at times and it takes awhile to snap out of it .

"So I called the school, they're looking forward to meeting you. " my mom said smiling , I'm nervous to go but hey it's now or never. Not like I have a choice.

"Okay, sounds great mom."  I grab my bookbag and head to the front door , "We should head out it's getting late." My mom grabbed the keys agreeing and we both get in the car and drive to the school .

We finally arrive after the 15 minute drive ,
"Okay Mia we're here, are you excited ?" She smiled at me, it's school why would I be excited? I thought to myself .

"I guess so." i grabbed my bag from the car floor and got out .

"Remember Mia I'll be here at 2:30 to come get you okay?"  I nodded and we said our good byes and I walked towards the school. I looked around and looking at the students, the building, the parked cars ..
