☆ Modern Day Off The Wall Era☆

You were currently sat in your student studio flat, which was where you lived throughout semester time at university. You studied English and, while it had always been your favourite subject, your second year studying it at university was proving to be much different from high school. You loved analysing a book, thinking about the author's intentions and looking deeply at the language they used; you had never been a true bookworm, per se, which always caused eyebrows to raise when you told people who knew that you studied English, and it was causing you intense anxiety now.

It wasn't the act of reading that enticed you- you had always  been more of a movie person, due to your focus often drifting, meaning that you never had the patience to sit and read a whole book. This was proving difficult with your work now and, as you researched job opportunities for after you graduate, you were only becoming more and more overwhelmed and couldn't help feeling that your degree had been one huge mistake.

To make matters worse, you hadn't seen your boyfriend, Michael Jackson, for a couple of months. He was on the Triumph tour with his brothers, and thinking about him made you wish you were accompanying him on the tour, messing around with his brothers and having long cuddling sessions with Michael. Right now, it sounded like absolute heaven to you, but alas, it was impossible at present.

You sighed, turning your phone on to see a photo of Michael and you as your screensaver. It was taken on your most recent trip to Disneyland, the two of you wearing adorable matching Disney tshirts, with Mickey and Minnie Mouse headbands on top of each of your heads to match. You sighed as you felt tears slowly form in your eyes, thinking back to such a happy time.

When you had first met Michael, you were going through a rough patch with your mental health. The doctor had called it 'depression', but you hated labels. All you knew was that when Michael came into your life, he brought along with him so much light and joy it changed your outlook on life; he truly helped guide you out of your dark days where there was no joy to be found in anything, and for that you were forever thankful to him.

But now, as you began to doubt yourself, those feelings were slowly starting to creep their way back into your life. There were so many job prospects for you, yet none of them appealed to you, and this only made you feel like a complete failure. Your family weren't rich by any means so you didn't ever ask them for money, and the thought of giving up your degree now, when you were halfway through it, felt like you were burning money, only to have to find more in order to start again.

The tears soon came as you felt the pressure pile on top of you like a tonne of bricks, your head spinning as you slowly made your way over to your bed, clutching your phone in your hand as you crawled under the warm sheets, feeling like a child as your curled up, crying into your pillow. Just when your sobs became more violent, you heard your ringtone fill the room and, out of instinct, you stifled your sobs, furiously wiping your eyes. Once your eyes were no longer blurry you could make out the contact name, which read 'Michael'. Usually you would have been over the moon to see him calling- you couldn't always speak as often as you liked, after all. Now, however, you chewed your lip anxiously as you tried to calm down, not wanting Michael to know you were upset. With a deep breath, you accepted the call and held the phone to your ear.

"Michael, hi!"

"Hi Y/N! I'm so happy to hear your voice, my love"

"I've missed you and your voice too, Michael..."

"How is everything? Are you doing okay? I know you must have loads of work at the moment"

"Oh yeah...yeah pretty busy here, what about you, how's the tour going?"
