Auditons

The sun peeks through your curtains and your alarm goes off. You turn the alarm off and lay in bed for a couple of minutes before getting ready for the day.

You push the duvet off your body and drag yourself to the bathroom.

Today is an important day, today you are auditioning for a role in a Korean drama. The Korean drama was based on a popular book and the author decided to create a show based on it. The story line was about two dancers falling in love. You were aiming for the main role. The main character was a girl named Ara. The major requirement for the main character was dancing. You had no problem in that category since you danced contemporary ever since you were little.

You recite your lines as you brush your teeth. You were determined to get this role.

You wear leggings and a loose T-shirt so you can dance in.

You head over to the building where auditions were held. You nervously walk in the waiting room to be welcomed by a room full of girls practicing their lines repeatedly. Each girl had a sticker on their shirt with their name and number. Number one was called first to audition and it continued on. You had the last number which was 42. You get more anxious as they reach closer to your number.

"Number 42" the staff announces

I smile and walk over

"Saved the best for last, huh?" The staff joked

I enter the room and see three judges seated at a table with camera man in the corner. I hand them my resume and walk to the x mark.

"Number 42 You may begin the first scene" the judge announces

I reenact the scene and the judges start to write notes down.

I finish the scene and the judges applaud

"Very well" one of them say

"Number 42 you may start your dance"

I stand in position waiting for the music. The music starts and my body moves to the rhythm of the song. I finish the dance and bow.

"Thank you Number 42, you may now exit"

I walk out of the room and wait outside where all the girls that have already auditioned stayed.

The staff comes out and everyone quiets down

"Thank you for coming today, we will be announcing the role for Ara in a week or so. We will call and let you know"

Everyone heads out of the building after the announcement.

I decided to walk over to a cafe and get lunch.

I sit down at a table and scroll through social media

"Care if I join?"

I look up to see a pair of familiar eyes

I smile

"What brings you here?" I ask

"Lunch" Taehyung answers

We eat lunch together and decided on getting to know each other more

We talked about our favorite hobbies and interests

"What is an idol like you doing here, shouldn't you be practicing?" I ask

"I like to go out instead of staying in a building all day" he answers

" What do you do for a living?" He asks

I don't want him to know I'm an idol, I want to befriend him without him knowing my background. I always felt like other idols wanted to become friends with me because they wanted more fame and money. I want to see how he treats me without knowing I'm an idol.

"I'm a professional dancer" you lie but not technically

"What form of dance do you perform?" He asks

"Contemporary"

"Ooh my friend Jimin does contemporary too"

"Oh really" you say

"You seem like a very nice girl, Areum. I would love for you to meet my members" he says

"Are you sure they don't mind?"

"They would love you" he says smiling
