MaNan: It all started with a lie

Maddy: Munchkin pani do na, my throat is on the verge of drying completely

Nandini: ha wait na

She said and deliberately decreased her speed of drinking, trying to annoy Maddy which kinda worked as he suddenly snatched the bottle from her hand and ran away, spilling some water on her dress too.

Nandini: Maddy!

She huffed irritated making Maddy laugh harder.

Maddy: Ab karo mujhe tease. Badi hasi aa rahi thi na?

He mocked her, running around the room with Nandini chasing him behind.

Nandini: Maddy stop

Maddy: no can do

Nandini: Maddy!

She whined which made Maddy laugh more as he continued running around while the others just laughed at their Tom and Jerry fight. The chase continued for five more minutes after which Maddy finally stopped running and taking advantage of which Nandini tried to tackle him immediately and snatch away the bottle but failed.

Maddy: Aha that's not so easy Munchkin

Nandini: We'll see

Nandini replied jumping, trying to grab the bottle from his stretched hand while Maddy continued standing on his toes and moving the bottle in the air to tease her more.

Maddy: Come on Munchkin you can do better

He mocked.

Nandini: Maddy gimme that bottle right away nai toh...

Maddy: nai toh?

He asked raising his brow at her.

Nandini: Nai toh...ha! Nai toh I won't talk to you

She declared after thinking for a moment making Maddy chuckle.

Maddy: you know you can't do that so speak something believable

Nandini: not fair

She pouted cutely and Maddy chuckled again finally quitting his teasing as he forwarded the bottle to her.

Maddy: Don't make those cute faces and take it....lo

This made Nandini smile as she snatched the bottle, grinning like a little kid which everyone present over there adored and that's when the door of the jam room opened and a pretty looking girl with an average height called out for Maddy.

On hearing his name being called out, he turned only to stand numb at his place, his face blank but his jaw clenched tightly.

Maddy: What are you doing here?

Nandini: Tum? Hey you were the one who met me outside the washroom right?

But the girl ignored her and continued looking at Maddy who was staring at her with cold eyes.

Girl: Maddy just listen to me once

Maddy: I don't waste my time talking to people I barely know and ya its Madhyam for you, Maddy is only for my closed ones

His tone was cold and stern.

Girl: We are not strangers

Maddy: Oh then what are we Ms. Sanjana Shekhawat? Enemies?

Sanjana: Maddy I-

Maddy: I said its Madhyam for you. Ek baar me samajh nahi aata kya?

He yelled this time unable to keep his cool.

Nandini: Maddy

Nandini held his arm and tried to calm him down which didn't really go well with Sanjana.

Maddy: Its alright Munchkin, I am calm don't worry

Nandini: Yeah I can see that

She rolled her eyes.

Nandini: Maddy if she wants to talk then-

She was about to speak but Maddy cut her midsentence.

Maddy*looking at her*: Seriously Munchkin? Even after knowing everything you are saying this?

Nandini: I know but Maddy-

Maddy: No Munchkin, please spare me of this drama

He said and left in anger without even sparing a glance at Sanjana standing right near the door with mixed emotions.

Manik: Nandu I think you should go check on him, he needs you

Manik said after a minute, blinking his eyes reassuringly at her to which Nandini nodded and left behind Maddy, leaving a curious group of friends and guilty as well as surprised Sanjana behind.

Terrace

Nandini: Maddy kya tum theek ho?

Maddy: Munchkin please leave me alone for some time

He replied avoiding eye contact with her.

Nandini: Ya right I should leave my friend alone when he needs me the most. Nice way of fulfilling the duties of a friend, isn't it? So now just quit the act and speak up

Maddy*sighs*: Munchkin why is she back now? Didn't she have enough after breaking me into pieces?

Nandini: I don't know about what she wants but I know one thing Maddy that you need a closure and for that you need to talk to her

Maddy: No. I am not doing any of that

He exclaimed angrily.

Nandini: Why? Are you scared? Have you still not moved on?

Maddy's head snapped in Nandini's direction for a moment and then he replied, avoiding eye contact.

Maddy: Its...its nothing like that. Ofcourse I have m-moved on

Nandini: Really?

She asked sarcastically, rolling her eyes at him.

Maddy: yes

Nandini: Are you sure you have moved on Maddy?

Maddy sucked in a sharp breath before he turned to Nandini and this time spoke a little confidently.

Maddy: yes I have moved on

Nandini: Good then she should not affect you much na. Just listen to what she has to say and get done with it. She won't disturb you then

She shrugged nonchalantly.

Maddy: I don't want to talk to her and that's final! End of discussion.

He announced and left the terrace leaving Nandini behind who shook her head in disbelief.

Nandini: Clearly, he still hasn't moved on

She sighed and murmured to herself as she exited the terrace behind him.
