I'll give you my cupcake
Now it's yours
You're a child but I am not.
Two,
Hum to the song
Cry to the words
Am a child, but am very lost.
Three,
Lips will burn
Walls will break
Hearts have numbed and smiles had to fade.
Four,
A universe changes yet you will remain
The songs still feel good and so does the pain.
Five,
Across the sea and between the sand
They both break apart
Leaving a lost soul behind.
Six,
Vivid nightmares
Tasteful details
Maybe all just a handful of nonsense.
Seven,
Put that pencil down little girl
Sharp it is on skin like yours
Hard it will be to erase those words.
Eight,
Soft blinks, deep voice
He shuts his eyes to dream of her
She shuts her mouth but hears no words
He refuses to love; she refuses to stay.
Nine,
Guitar solos, cigarette packs, and broken words.
Head down, walk straight, and keep those pretty looks.
Ten,
White rooms and white big coats
She got roses and was showered with supportive words
He got his heart to slow down on his own and hummed a melody
She heard his deep voice and followed unconsciously
Time is an illusion and a tool
Time created fear that trapped him
Love is an illusion and a tool
Love created fear that trapped her
His sharp eyes met her soft blinks
He took the steps towards her and in his hands
Was the cupcake she once refused to take.
'Cause he is the child who was never a child
And she is the little girl who never grew up.
