At the Miss Mystic Falls Pageant.

Caroline and i walked through the event and i smiled at how amazing she did it.

Me "Caroline"

She looked at me "yes?"

Me "this is beautiful"

She smiled "thanks"

I smiled at her. 

Caroline "oh hey, there are Bonnie and Enzo"

Suddenly i was pulled in the direction. 

I chuckled "Caroline, slow down"

Bonnie and Enzo looked at us. 

Caroline "Paine this is my BFF Bonnie"

She smiled and held her hand out "nice to meet you"

I shook it "yeah nice to meet you too"

Caroline "and this is her BFF Enzo"

I looked at the guy. He was very handsome. Very handsome. 

Enzo seemed to caught himself again and held his hand out "Paine, a pleasure"

I shook his hand "indeed, Enzo"

I was walking around, drinking champagne and trying to survive this event all by my own. I had lost Caroline like an hour ago and was now all on my own. 

 I took a sip of my drink when i saw Enzo coming my way. 

Enzo "Paine"

I smiled and put my drink on a table "Enzo"

Enzo held his hand out "would you like to dance?"

I nodded and took his hand "of course"

We walked to the dance floor.

He put a hand on my lower back and grabbed my hand with his free hand. I put my other hand on his shoulder and we started to move to the music. 

Enzo "i'm surprised to see you here all by yourself. "

Me "i lost Caroline like an hour ago so..yeah.."

Enzo just smiled and that made me smile.

Enzo and i were still dancing. And he was looking at me this certain way. 

I asked shyly "why are you looking at me like that?"

Enzo "i was wondering"

Me "about what?"

Enzo "about you"

I blushed a little. 

Enzo "well, more about your name. Paine. Does it mean something special to you?"

I took a deep breath. 

Enzo "you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to"

I shook my head "no. No. it's okay. It's just that i gave myself that name after i lost my family in a fire. Pain follows me ever since....so..so i kinda rebranded myself...but i hope it won't follow me forever"

Enzo nodded, deep in thoughts. 

Suddenly Caroline showed up, panicking. 

 Enzo and i stopped dancing. 

I asked worried "Caroline, what's wrong?"

Caroline "i need your help"

I nodded "okay"

I was about to say something to Enzo but Caroline grabbed me and pulled me away. 

I watched how Enzo looked at after me with smile.
