They give us
this false fantasy
of perfection
they doesn't even exist.
Yet we believe in it,
and we find out as we grow up
that we do not have it,
that we are not it-
that we never were,
and it breaks our hearts
because we can't fathom why
we've been chosen
out of everyone else
that have the lives that are not
and that ourselves are not
normal.
