Chapter 5

"I've heard rumours that you have the voice of an angel." 

Aria looked down at her lap and blushed in embarrassment. The only person she had actually sung in front of was Arthur but that is only because he had accidentally walked in on her singing in her room when she thought she was alone.

" It's true, she's probably Camelot's finest singer," Arthur says causing Aria to glare at him annoyed to which Arthur just smiled back innocently. Arthur knew how much his sister hated singing in front of people.

" I'm am not. " Aria glared at her brother in annoyance before turning back to the queen

"I don't know your majesty, I'm not even that good"

" Nonsense, you must sing for us " The Queen insisted

Aria caught Merlin smiling smugly in the corner of her eye and turned to look at him.

" And what are you looking so smug about?"  Aria snapped

" Oh, nothing" He responded still smirking

Aria turned back round to face the Queen. Before she could refuse any more Arthur cut her off.

" You know what, Annis is right. You must sing for us, Aria" Arthur insisted

Aria turned to look at Violet for help, desperately not wanting to sing in front of all those people.

Violet simply smirked at the princess and gave her a thumbs up.

Aria sighed knowing she wasn't getting out of it and nervously stood up.

Before she stood up all the way Aria leaned over and whispered to Arthur

" I'll get you back for this, just you wait, dear brother" She threatened

Arthur let out a laugh at his sister.  He then started clapping along with Annis and everyone else in the room.

As soon as it was silent, Aria closed her eyes, took a deep breath in to calm her nerves, let out a shaky breath and started singing. Her voice, as Annis said, was truly like an angel, soft and pure.

In case the music up at the top didn't work.

I'm nothing special, in fact, I'm a bit of a bore

When I tell a joke, you've probably heard it before

But I have a talent, a wonderful thing
'Cause everyone listens when I start to sing

I'm so grateful and proud
All I want is to sing it out loud

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing

Thanks for all the joy they're bringing
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty

What would life be?
Without a song or a dance, what are we?

So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

Mother says I was a dancer before I could walk

She says I began to sing long before I could talk

But I've often wondered, how did it all start?

Who found out that nothing could capture a heart

Like a melody can?

Well, whoever it was, I'm a fan

So I say
Thank you for the music, the songs I'm singing

Thanks for all the joy they're bringing

Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty

What would life be?
Without a song or a dance, what are we?

So I say thank you for the music
For giving it to me

I've been so lucky, I am the girl with golden hair

I wanna sing it out to everybody
What a joy, what a life, what a chance!

As Aria finished singing, everyone stared at her in awe making Aria blush and look down at her feet in embarrassment. The entire hall suddenly burst into cheers and applause, making Aria jumped back a little in surprise. 

Aria did a little curtsy and smiled sheepishly at the crowd before she sat back down in her seat.

Arthur was clapping and smiling proudly at his little sister.

Aria lent back in her seat and let out a sigh of relief as she brushed some of her hair back and out of her face. Thankful it was over.

Queen Annis smiled kindly at the princess.

"It would appear the rumours are true, you really do have the voice of an angel " She complimented

"Thank you, your Majesty "Aria smiled at the queen before looking shyly down at her lap.

Arthur lent over to whisper to his sister

" I knew you could do it"

Aria smiled at her brother

" I'm still getting you back for making me do it" Aria reminded

Arthur just laughed and so did Aria.

The next morning, the knights were getting ready to leave and continue the rest of their journey.

Queen Annis, Aria and Arthur all walked out of the castle doors.

" Morgana has been devoured by hate, it would appear only a miracle could warm her cold heart, be careful," Annis warns Arthur and Aria, placing a hand on Arthur's shoulder as he is the closest to her.

"We will" Arthur replies

Annis nods and removes her hand from Arthur's shoulder.

" Good allies are hard to find, I'd hate to lose one" She states

Arthur and Aria nod before they mount their horses and ride off with the knights, Merlin and Violet following.
