ELLIE ALLERTON was one of the nicest Hufflepuff girls in her year. She had a tendency to be kind to every single student that she met in her classes. She set aside her blood status of being muggleborn to interacting with other students. Ellie was a broken stereotype for a muggleborn witch as she had some of the closest pureblood students as her friends. She was called "the golden girl" half of the time, due to the fact that she had golden locks of blonde hair and her face lit up with a smile every time she walked down the corridors of the school.
JAMES POTTER, the ringleader of his own group of Gryffindor students had held a close eye on the Hufflepuff girl. Although he liked Lily James, the boy was having rather mixed feelings about Ellie Allerton herself. And his liking for the golden-haired girl only grew more on that day when he pulled at her hair and called her freckles. But only made Ellie disgusted by his presence in general.

━━━ this plot takes place in the sixth year of hogwarts because it's the year where james is trying his hardest to get with lily even though she's still at the phase where she doesn't like him
━━━ ellie is like this lovable ray of sunshine that is such a pleasant girl to be around. she is called golden-haired girl due to the fact that her hair is a golden blonde shade and because she has like this personality that is literally pure!
━━━ the friends that she could have can be some of the sacred twenty-eight purebloods, but you can also throw in a mix of muggleborn and half-blood witches and wizards too. so you can show her being like this happy teenage girl that is like the most cheerful person as she hangs around people that influence her to make her happier
━━━ james potter could be watching this teenage girl from the corner of his eye as he sees how cheery and happy ellie is. he still likes lily at this time, but he notices how the red-haired girl is always hard to get. just make it so that james tries to get over her
━━━ so he moves on to his second option, henceforth being ellie allerton the cocky boy doesn't know exactly how to talk to ellie because she is different from most girls, as she has this happy and bubbly personality
━━━ ellie and james could be in like the same class of transfiguration together and that is when james gets like all the courage to talk to her. james can like crumble up paper and throw it at ellie to get her attention. but she only ignores it thinking that it is some rude pureblood student that wants to pick on her
━━━ james has to sneak across the aisle to talk to ellie. but to get her attention, he tugs at her braids and says "hey freckles" the girl can scream in shock and slap james across the face for a quick reflex. that ends with james in detention and for ellie to lose points for her house
━━━ ellie starts disliking james from that moment on and tries to avoid the boy. and this boi thinks that she is just flustered by his gesture and so every time he sees her, he tugs at her hair and calls her freckle because james thinks that ellie's freckles are cute
━━━ he does this to her a lot until ellie yells at him with puffy bags and tears because she doesn't like it that james is teasing her about her freckles. that can be him confessing that he likes her freckles, and the two can start forming a small friendship.
━━━ their friendship grows more and more. eventually, james invites ellie to take part in a prank with his group. her friends notice a new light and a new type of happiness inside of ellie when she is around james which is new
━━━ yet the golden-haired girl denies her feelings for james in the hallway, just as soon as he is to make this romantic gesture to ask her out. james gets all heartbroken that he runs off away from walking towards ellie, but she notices that he ran away
━━━ she truly breaks his heart as james confesses his feelings to her but she has none in return and it's mainly because her feelings for him haven't developed at this point
━━━ a year can pass to their seventh year, where james can be the head boy with lily. he hasn't spoken to Ellie at all after she broke his heart and both of the marauders and ellie's friends notice how gloomy the golden-haired girl is
━━━ but everyone sees that james has made a move for lily as the two are together and happy because y'all know that is endgame and ellie isn't gonna be endgame with james
━━━ ellie can kinda have like this moment of recognition later on that she indeed have feelings for james but she was too late to confess them and there was no way that she wanted to say anything about it now that he's with lily
━━━ they only see each other sometimes in the hallways and a small friendship can form again. but james as no more feelings for ellie anymore yet he still tugs at her hair and calls her freckles as an old memory of their friendship
━━━ the end of the story there can be this flash forward to the future as james and lily are to celebrate christmas with little harry. the grown james notices a letter in one of his old textbooks and see that it is from ellie (side note: ellie did not die, she's alive and okay)
━━━ and it's love letter as ellie confesses her feelings for him, and how she never realized them until it was too late. she can sign it off with saying: freckles, rather than ellie. and james has tears spilling down his face as he thinks about his old hufflepuff crush
