Hide And Seek With The Devil

~Chapter X~

After that long fight with Sue and then Priscilla, Ai with Edward went back home-even if she tried to get away she couldn't. Priscilla went to the palace and Sue obviously back inside the mansion. When he arrived though he found something he didn't expect. Dorothy was walking around searching for something even if he told her to go away. A cold sweat ran down his forehead. Did she see him? Did she see all of this!? He took a sharp breath and walked towards her, if she had been in there and saw the man fighting like the demons around, what would she say?

"What are you doing, princess? " That was the moment when the younger girl would almost scream in surprise and fear, she didn't expect him to be behind her.

"I-I thought you had gone to that job you had.... So I returned home.." She breathed out and gave him a frowned look. With a small smile on his face he placed a pat on her shoulder

"You shouldn't be wandering around that late.. It's dangerous.....also... For how long are you here? "

"No and stop being so overprotective ... what could possibly happen? I'm at home.. " She breathed out when suddenly a form of smoke burnt onto the ground. Dorothy had her eyes open widely at the weird thing that was happening and Sue on the other hand wasn't surprised at all.

"Is your question answered yet? "

He murmured not pleased at all since he new who was coming. The smoke finally took the form of a not so much friendly figure and its lips smiled widely

"Heello~Princess ~" Edward spoke to a scared Dorothy. She had no idea what was happening and Edward would do things worse. The guard of hers only stepped between them and gave a glare at the taller man.

"Hello and goodbye, Edward"

He growled with the smile still on his face. If he would stay the only thing he would do is ruin everything.

"I will come later... "

"No you won't " He replied fast and watched him while he was leaving. Dorothy's eyes were fixed on Sue and he....honestly couldn't do anything. He didn't know how to explain it yet he didn't have to. Dorothy knew nothing about all this and with his wounds he couldn't fix anything at the moment.

"I will see you tomorrow"

"Sue, who was he-" He immediately touched her shoulder before her eyes felt heavy. It felt as if she was getting again all dizzy and her head was aching but this time he was the one that cause it. Her shorter form fell thankfully onto his arms and he left a relieved sigh.

"And now patch those up"

He whispered to himself while looking at his wounded, red shoulder and then back at her. She seemed so peaceful and her beautiful hair only caused him to freeze for a second. He didn't know why, he didn't know what was this feeling but he didn't like it...at all. Feelings especially for a human was actually too strange for him to even imagine and Ai's first words about them having a crush on each other didn't make things better. Soon he shook his head to stop thinking and carried her to her bedroom, laying her gently on the bed before standing there and glancing down at her. After a second that felt like an eternity, he covered her up with the blanket since it started to get colder and colder outside and stepped away. The night would eventually end with him in bed and staring blankly onto the wall, thinking of what the Hell just happened back there and how lucky he was and he had the control of her to just wipe away the fact Edward just appeared from the floor.

       The suns were rising slowly onto the dark purple sky of hell, the palace was separated by a river of lava and only a small bridge would connect the royals with the...rest of the demons. To the Royal grounds would obviously live the seven princesses and princes of sins and the princess of Hell. The whole place was guarded by demons like Edward, and no lower ranked demon was allowed to be there, unless they're prisoners.

The dining room was filled but one of the seven chairs of purple silk was empty. Someone was missing and everyone knew who was. Edward. Ai was the first to complain about it and Priscilla couldn't help but agree

"He didn't come back home last night... I'm sure he's still sleeping with..'ladies'.. " Ai would hiss and almost fall on the table. Her dark blue hair was all messy but she didn't give a damn about it, her hands were helping her head to be kept up, as much as she could. Priscilla would only roll her eyes and shake her head before leaving a small sigh. She was always looking good. Her hair, her make up, her dresses... Almost as if she didn't do anything else than stay under the bed or keeping herself fresh for the whole day. Something that, everyone knew, she didn't. Priscilla, being a princess, had to check everything before it goes to her father. She had too much paperwork and usually she didn't even meet up with Damien for days, even if they lived at the same place.

"Start eating then... He won't come"  When that voice of hers was heard, the door opened widely with a loud noise. The blond man stepped inside with a happy expression on his face and a quite messy shirt. The first buttons were undid and his hair needed a fix as well. Ai's expression was only a huge disgusted face and her look returned to her food.

"Someone had a good night " She hissed and poked her slice of bread with a knife. Meanwhile Desirè would only leave a giggle

"And someone's jealous~" She whispered, thankfully Sue was beside her and not Ai because she threw that knife directly at her. Desirè, being a princess of envy,  could easily 'smell' it when someone was feeling such things, never happened with Sue or Priscilla of course but with Ai and Edward this thing was an everyday feeling.

"Why to be? There's no reason and you know it... " Ai would reply after the throw off the knife and looked straight at her with a glare, obviously receiving no answer.

"Mornin' Priscilla " Edward breathed out and took a seat right next to Ai ignoring the conversation between her and Desirè

"Good morning... Sue, I want you-" She said before fixing her eyes on Edward once again. He seemed like he was almost about to fall asleep on the table but Ai noticed it and gave him a hit on his ribs to wake him up.

"Priscilla I know you want me but I told you.. I can't be with you" Sue would give a smirk at her and staid there staring at her and enjoying her angry expression.

"I want you to help me with something..."She hissed, the princess had to admit that long time ago, before she make him take care of Dorothy, she had a small crush on him but she would never tell that to anyone. Her feelings had long gone.

"And that something is..-? "

"Private" She pointed to the others for him to hush and soon enough he returned his glance on his plate. The pink-haired didn't need a 'yes' from him since it was a question-order and he knew it. Now, turning her look at Edward she continued.

"And you won't be replacing him... I will find an other guard"

"What!? " Edward yelled in disbelief and a disappointed look covered his face.

"You clearly are not focused on your duty, I hope you know it" She would point out the red marks on his neck and the almost torn shirt of his. She didn't need to tell anything else.  "Till I find that guard, Sue will stay with Dorothy and then, you're coming with me "

"And... To have a better question...for how long will I have to leave Dorothy behind for that job that you need me? " Sue jumped in the conversation and spoke calmly, placing a last piece in his mouth before he freeze by the answer

"For a week~"
