I smile sadly at Riley, "They are people from my mom's side. They're here because they heard my roar. They have come to take me home with them."
I see Riley's whole face fall at me words.
"You're leaving?" He asks.
"I'm no--" I get cut off.
"Her place is with us. She is one of us." A man in his late sixty says.
"She is not one of you, she is special, can't you see? She belongs with me. I'm her mate." Riley fights back.
"Boy, she is not safe here. We will guard her."
"You can't guard her. The evil will find her no matter where she runs to. It's better to face it right now. We'll face it together. She is not alone, she never has to be alone again." Riley then looks a me, "Please, stay."
I shake my head to tell him that I would never leave him. "I'm not lea---" The man interrupts me again.
"We are leaving, Nikolai."
I sigh in frustration. I've had enough, "No, Grandpa. I'm not leaving."
