Part 16

I walked through the garden with heavy steps
Walking to my usual direction
I didn't look after the doggie for the past 2 days but i made sure to ask Fatima to do so

To my surprise okba was there he was holding ren but he wasn't alone , a guy was with him
I hurried in their direction
Will he throw it? He can't possibly do that
As soon as he saw me he smiled

_ " what are you going to do with it" i said detaching it from his hands in surprise

_" i thought that he needs to be vaccinated, no? " he said his hands still in the air

I looked him up and down in suspicion then checked the guy who was putting back his items on a box

_" why are you doing this?.... Since when you care about ren " i said holding the dog protectively

He smiled at that

_"you even named it?.. you seem to love it alot... Seeing the way you are holding it, treating him was a necessity for me.... I dont want you to get hurt".

he said the last words slowly
putting me in a state of uneasiness, i felt weird so i avoided his unusual gaze

_" it needs to be vaccinated every two or three years, pets like this can be a host to alot of viruses " said the other guy coming toward us

_" this is my wife mira, mira this is my friend karim ".

His name...........

_" you have the same name as my..... Bro... Ther " i said

He smiled nodding his head

_" nice to meet you madame, now if you excuse me i will have to go al Salam ".

_" goodbye " said okba patting his friend's shoulder

I thought that he will go with him but instead he turned my way giving me the same look as earlier

_" aren't you going to accompany him? ". I asked wanting to get rid of his presence as quick as possible

_" he knows the way out " he said carelessly

_" so rude " i said looking him up and down

_" hmm but you kicking me out indirectly is not rude huh? " he said bending down looking staright in my eyes

Again he was doing this, i was sure he was doing it on purpose

_" i didn't....... ".
but then i felt water on my skin
It started to rain quickly i moved toward the cabin

_" where are you going? " okba questioned following me

_" to hide from the rain, come or you will catch a cold ".

He followed without any questions
The rain was heavy and by the time we got to the door my clothes were somehow wet

I disposed ren on his little bed

_" here you go cutie " i said caressing it

I felt something on my shoulders , turning back it was okba covering me with his jacket

_" it's not that cold... You can keep it " i said taking it off
But he stopped me with his hands

_" don't take it off... You will get ill " he said

_" what about you? "

_" i am fine like this ". He said disposing a cardboard on the floor and sitting on it facing me his back on the wall

_" great! this is the great time for the network to not work" he said when checking his phone

Then he looked at me

_" should we stay here until it stops or just go? " he asked

_" yeah that will be our second shower of the day, you will like that mister clean " i said remarking that he put a cardboard between his back and the wall too

He laughed in understanding and removed it from behind him to a space beside him

_" come here " he said patting it

I moved beside him my legs coming together it was a natural position for me

He kept looking at me and i pretended to not notice, occupying my self with the doggie

_" do you hate me that much? ".
His sudden question surprised me

_" huh? "

He smiled warmly

_" you hate me to the extent that you can't even look my way ".

_" that's because.... You are acting weird don't look at me like that " i said playing with my hands avoiding his gaze again

I heard him chuckling before he put his hand on my chin and turning my head slowly so i can face him
He looked to my face then the scarf that covered my head

_" i forgot how your hair looks like , why do you wear this in the house? Take it off and make yourself comfortable ".

I detached his hand from my chin and turned my head again

_" no, i am good like this ".

He chuckled again

_" i just hope that our children won't be as stubborn as you ".

I looked at him in surprise, why would he say that does he knows?
I couldn't get a pregnancy test because he wouldn't let me get out these few last days

I asked Fatima to get me one, the woman was so happy and i had to cover up her mouth so she wouldn't scream and make everyone know
But to this minutes i don't know if my suspicions were right

_" i am just kidding " he said

I nodded slowly

_" or not....... " he said again

I looked at him and he did the same

_" i won't put pressure on you, but think about it again mira........can't you...... Be mine? ".

It was my turn to look at him this time i made sure that my eyes meet his

_" i will............ Never be yours " i said coldly

I saw the hurt in his eyes, i knew he expected everything but this
I knew that i have been harsh, but i didn't want his pity

All i could think about was if i were really pregnant how would i deal with it
If okba was faking all of this and forcing himself to stay with me out of guilt, this will be another reason for him to not let me go.

We didn't say another word after that he kept looking at the rain in silence and i did the same

I was sitting on the bed with the pregnancy test in my hand
It said that the result will be seen in three minutes
It felt like three long years
I've always wanted to be a mom, but not like this
The thought that a child will come as a result of a horrible act

The three minutes were over
I lifted the test slowly checking it

Okba entered in at that moment causing me to hide it behind me quickly

He reached me slowly tilting his head slightly as if trying to see what i hide

A tear escaped my eye and i stood there in panic........
