Peter wasn't really one for haunted houses, especially now. His Spidey senses would have him hyper aware of people hiding around dark corners and such. He wouldn't even get scared- and honestly he didn't want to be. With his powers, his response would be to fight, and that wouldn't be good for anyone.

However, when his best friend Ned pointed out that going to a haunted house with you would be a great opportunity to get closer to you, he rethought his decision. It was cliché as all hell, he knew that but- it usually worked, didn't it? The guy would look all tough and secure and the girl would be all over him. Real life worked like that, right?

Peter wasn't too sure- he was still young after all. Young and naive. Also incredibly hopeful. He's liked you for so long now, but he's never really had the courage or means to try to get you to see that. Due to that, he also couldn't tell that you were crushing on him too. Quite frankly, everyone knew you had feelings for one another. Every single person- except for the two of you- well, maybe just him. You had a feeling that your feelings towards him were mutual but- you didn't want to get your hopes up.

So, you were incredibly surprised when he came up to you, a mumbling blushy mess with two little tickets in his hands. It took him a minute or two, maybe longer, to explain to you what the tickets were for. A haunted house (more like a haunted walk, but close enough). He'd heard it was a rather popular thing to do, and he knew how you liked Halloween, so he figured you might want to go. You had eagerly said yes, much to his surprise. You'd never been to a haunted house, and going with him seemed wonderful.

Key word being seemed.

You see, while Peter was hyper aware of his surroundings and didn't get scared, you were different. You didn't have his senses. Jumpscares got you easily and you found yourself clinging to the sleeve of his sweater- not that he cared. You were touching him and holding his arm oh so tightly. Still- the scares were getting to you- enough to make you start swinging. Luckily enough, no one had been hit yet.

Yet.

"I swear to shit- if one more chainsaw guy comes at me, I'm gonna lose my damn mind.", you hissed under your breath, clutching his arm to you. If you weren't so wary, you would've noticed he was rather muscular under his baggy sweaters.

He chuckled at you, "I think you're safe for now, [Y/n]."

It was a lie, you were not safe. Just a little ways away and around the corner, there was one last man with a chainsaw waiting to jump out at you both. Peter knew he was there, but you did not. You had no idea and so-

One of your swings actually ended up landing on the guy. Square in the jaw- right on that sweet spot that would render anyone unconscious.

"Oh shit..", you murmured, "I- I'm so sorry.."

So, long story short, you got kicked out. You felt so guilty and Peter was left fighting back little fits of laughter. In his eyes, it was hilarious. What should've been an attempt at getting you closer to him, ended up in you knocking out a large man.

"It's not funny, Peter..", you huffed.

"I-It ki-kinda is..", he chuckled, still holding back his laughter.

"It is.. okay yeah, it kinda is.", you admitted, beginning to laugh.

"Yeah, but hey! It was still a fun date- I MEAN-", he started fumbling for words, trying to backtrack.

"Date?", you asked.

Now it was his turn to be scared and wary- only it was all for nothing. He'd soon learn that you would love to date him- just no more haunted house dates. It was obvious that those wouldn't go too well.
