*Sherlock POV*

"We're going to get you out. I promise."

John doesn't respond, still leaning against my side.

"I'm sorry. I...I didnt know they would-"

"Stop."

"Stop what?"

"Stop this! You're not fucking real! Get out!"

I flinch, standing quickly as John pushes me away.

"Get out!"

"John..."

He pushes me towards the door, turning away when I fall.

"Now!"

I stay there on the ground, watching fearfully as John screams at me.

"Go away! You're not fucking real! Please!"

A nurse runs in, followed by Mycroft, who carefully helps me up and pulls me out of the room.

"Sit."

I nod, sitting carefully in one of the chairs.

"What happened?"

Mycroft sits beside me, pulling me into a tight hug.

"I...I thought he would...would be..."

I start crying now, barely consoled by Mycroft.

"Shhh...its alright. He'll get better, I promise."

"He doesn't think I'm...I'm real."

"I know."

"What happened?"

"Hes scared, and your heart stopped. Twice. We had to lock him in a spare room until Greg took him down to a hospital. He almost killed one of Greg's team, Sally I think her name was, and after he almost killed himself twice we decided the institution would be best."

Mycroft lets me cry against his shoulder until a nurse walks back out, when he stands and disappears off down the hall to speak to her. I sit, feeling numb, until he returns.

"Do you want to go back?"

"Is it safe?"

He nods, walking me back to Johns room. John is calmer, considerably so, and barely looks up when I walk in.

"John?"

"Not real..."

"Please John. Look at me."

He looks up at me, flinching when I step towards him.

"Can I sit down?"

He nods, scooting back to let me sit on the mattress beside him.

"Give me your hand."

I frown, carefully holding out my hand to him. He grabs my wrist suddenly, flipping my arm over and lying his fingers across my wrist.

"Sh...Sherlock?"

I nod, crying softly as he leans against me.

"I'm sorry."

"What for?"

"For not waking up. I...I should have woken up. For you."

He makes a soft sound of agreement, cautiously reaching out and taking my hand.

"Its okay."

"Its not."

"You're right, its not, but it is what it is."
