I remember a time
When life was truly Devine
When angels swung around this heirloom
From a hole in the sky
When darkness was simply called night
And the light actually day
That going to sleep was a past time
There was no passing away
I remember everyone lived forever
No matter what their endeavors.
I remember a time when school was what I worried about
That curing my stress was just going out
Getting a pack of candy cigarettes was always the best
And big ice pops
Would be what drowned my sorrows best
I remember my cures were three
Writing, playing music, or poetry
Sometimes climbing trees
Even though I did this horribly
It was something that was completely
And utterly fine way to waste time
On a warm summers night
Maybe life was something that changed me
I hope I can become amazing
Cause this life years ago was just so crazy
But now instead I pick up a pen,
Try to remember the times back then
And suddenly the moon and the stars seem alright
Even if it is only for one night
