Sweetheart
Has Cain found your name?
Written across the backstreets
Tarnished with all the pain
Bronze eyes look in shame.
I wonder are we the same
My love is only so strong that he won't go insane
Stay close by the waters
The lord will keep thy name
I don't know if anyone sees you
Crying in the rain
I just watch
And pray
Hoping I'll never see your grave
Your soul as sweet as fruit
Your lips like sunrise
On a summers day
Oh how I marvel at your ways.
Even in the olden days
Because of your sweet fragrance
Cain will see errors in your ways
Like a broken clay
Dropped to the driveway.
They will hang you up like ornaments
To scare the hearts of slaves
And God knows what they've done
Your blood cried from the pavement
Your last breath you have to pay
Just so Cain can have all
And bury you in graves.
