Chapter Four

“Shh. It’s okay. Addy, I’m here now. Big brother is here now. Calm down, calm down, calm down, please. Please calm down, please. I don’t want to lose you again, please.” I stopped right away when he said “big brother”. Their siblings? Then I noticed that he was crying. “Please, calm down, please.”

What did he mean ‘I don’t want to lose you again’? I walked towards my mate and her brother, but the brother yelled at me. “STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM US!!”

“No, I will n-” Joshua suddenly appeared in front of me.

“Alpha, please calm down. These two are the same human family that just moved here from Pennsylvania. The brother is Travis Woods and the sister is Adeline Woods, who is now your mate I assume?”

“Yes, Joshua. She’s my mate.”

“Well, I don’t think you are going to be allowed to get close to her.”

“Why not?!” I was furious when he said that.

“There is a reason why she is shaking like that. I looked up at a police records from when they were living in Pennsylvania. A boy was about to rape your mate when her brother just came in time to save her. Since then she will always shake and start crying whenever a boy or a man comes too close to her and her brother will always be there protecting her as one of her friends stated.”

I was shocked, angry, no. I was enraged. I couldn’t believe someone would try to hurt my mate. The most beautiful woman in the whole world, the woman I’m going to marry in the future and have pups with. I let them be and I walked away with a pain in the heart of leaving my mates side for a just a moment.

Adeline

I was awakened by Ginger with his meowing. I felt myself in a cozy bed and I opened my eyes realizing that I’m in my own bedroom. I remembered what just happened. I remember being saved by the very handsome stranger, but then he said “mate” in which I did not understand. Was he  Australian? And he didn’t let go of me then I remember Travis came to my rescue and I blacked out. I petted Ginger and he purred happily. “I’m fine, Ginger.” But I wasn’t sure if I was okay.

“So you’re finally awake.” A voice spoke.

I turned around and realized it was my father. “Dad?”

He came towards me and sat on my bed. I immediately hugged him and he hugged me back comforting me as I cry. “It’s alright sweetheart. I’m here now."

“Where’s Travis?” I asked my dad.

“He… He’s downstairs with your mom just putting some ice on his face.” He hesitated.

“What?! Why?! What happened?!” I shouted.

“Calm down sweetheart. He’s fine; he just got in a fight with the boy who was hurting you that was all.” He said as he soothed my head.

“Is he alright, Dad? Is his face alright? Since he likes his ‘beautiful’ face so much."

My dad chuckled. “No, not really. He says it worth getting punched on the face in order to save his little sister.”

I was relieved that my brother was alright. “I’m hungry dad.”

“Alright then. Let’s go to the kitchen with your mom and Travis.” I nodded.

We went to the kitchen, I saw my brother leaning on the kitchen counter with an ice-pack on his face. “Travis?”

“Ahh, so the Sleeping Beauty finally woke up.” He moved the ice-pack away from his face and saw a black bruise on his right cheek and a beaten bottom lip.

“Whoa.” Is all I can say right now.

“That’s all you can say? ‘Whoa’? Aren’t you going supposed to say ‘OMG! My poor big brother who saved me from the bad guy! Oh, my brother the knight in a shining armor. Thank you so much! You’re so cool and awesome.’ You should be saying that, not ‘whoa’.” He said and put the ice-pack back on his face.

I giggled. I went to my brother and hugged him really tight.

“Owww.” He groaned in pain.

“What’s wrong?” I asked him as I let go of him.

“That jerk face kneed me on my stomach and left me a bruise. That fucking bastard.” He fisted in the air. I hugged him again. Until, a flip flop was thrown at the back of his head leaving with a thunk sound after it fell on the floor.

“Thank you again Travis. You’re always there saving me when I need you the most. You’re always be my big brother, my knight in shining armor.” Then I heard sniffles. “Are you crying Travis?” I looked up, but he put his hands in front of my eyes.

“No. I-I’m not c-crying.” He said and he hugged me back. I laughed in my head. Even though my brother looks tough on the outside, but he’s a softie on the inside.
