Jounin Exams [Filler]

"The Jounin exams will be the hardest test you will ever have to take before any opportunity to move further up in ranks will be given to you." The proctor shouted towards the Chunin from different villages as they stood at attention before him.

"He makes it seem like we all want a higher rank than Jounin." Shikamaru yawns while stretching his arms above his arms.

"Well, unlike you, there are some of us who want to be in the ANBU." Yuki says, not taking her eyes off of the proctor as he continued to yell nonsense from the podium.

"Both of you, be quiet." Neji whispers at the two when the proctor shoots a glare in their general direction.

Shikamaru rolls his eyes with a sigh while Yuki attempts to bite back a laugh. Yuki, Shikamaru, and Neji had been sent to Iwa to participate in the Jounin exams. Since the three were the only ones in the rookie 10 to have made it to the Chunin rank, they were sent as a team to compete. As of now, they stood in a crowd of Chunin and waited for the first test to begin.

Once the proctor finished his monologue, he announced the first test.

"You will all take part in a race and only the first twenty teams to finish will pass onto the next faze." The proctor says only to be drown out by shouts of protest from some of the teams.

There were sixty teams in total that traveled to take part of this test. If what the proctor said was true, then forty teams would be wiped out within the first test alone.

"QUIET!!" The proctor shouts, once its silent he continues, "You will take part of the Warrior Dash, follow the path behind me and complete the obstacles. Any team to stray off the path will be disqualified immediately; anything but killing goes. Stick with your team, anyone who finishes without their teammates will not move on. You start now. Good luck." The proctor finishes before a light flashes signaling the beginning and teams begin to move out.

"Let's go" Neji says before racing ahead, Yuki and Shikamaru following behind almost immediately.

The beginning was a straight run through mud and a river that came up to their thighs. Soon after they had to swim across a lake, climb over the obstacle in the middle, and then jump off and continue to swim to the other side. They would have to run atop of the water, had it not been for seals placed on the lake, courtesy of the Mist ninja, that blocked all attempts of running atop of the water.

Once on land, they came to another obstacle where they had to army crawl through a tunnel while trying not to hit the electric field above their heads; from there it was another clear run. So far, our team from the Leaf were making good time and were in third, just behind the teams from Suna and Mist.

It didn't take long for them to come upon another obstacle and by this point a team from Iwa was catching up fast. This obstacle required the teams to army crawl, again, underneath the ground before coming out the other end. Not waiting to be overtaken, the Leaf team dives into the openings before crawling as fast as they can, with chakra of course, to get to the other side.

The Iwa team seemed to have the same idea and were fast approaching before the tunnels began to fill up with water and a team from the Mist began to shoot towards them, using the water to their advantage. One ended up catching up to Yuki and grabbed her ankle to slow her down, only to let go of her a second later when she kicks the nin in the head before reaching the exit.
