did anyone else realize
rose tyler was the first and last face the tenth doctor ever saw.
think about it. He regenerates when she's there, so that's obvious, but in the end of season 4 he goes around to all his companions and stuff, and Rose is the last person he visits, in the new year of 2005 before she met Nine (she was also really the only person he talked to other than the granddaughter of the woman John Smith fell in love with), and them he starts regenerating. And she's the longest lasting companion from 2005-2010, I think. And even though the doctor marries River, he never told her he loved her (I'm pretty sure) whereas he would have with Rose.
And also, Rose was mentioned a lot after she leaves. And she was the only one who sort of ended up with the doctor, even if he was metacrisis or whatever (because yes River does end up with him but she also jumped around in time whereas Rose and The Doctor's time streams were mostly coordinated.
So, Rose is an extremely important companion.
