I don't like people because you don't have open eyes to see the world in blue skies but in these constant lies that rappers and drug dealers, gangs and government keep feeding us.
Wake up and smell the coffee
Remember when you were a kid and just saw everything differently.
It didn't matter if you went outside and scrapped your knee
See that's the beauty inside of me
Life may throw sticks and stones and I just grow strong
Strong enough to know that the father is testing me
So as I get older you see,
When I get hits with sticks they just bounce right off of me
And here I am able to take the whole width of a tree
Up against my bad knee and I will stand there not moved because I've grown immunity.
And all this brings is opportunity.
For me to live life fruitfully
By the word I stand
And by the word I fall
But through life I stand tall despite it all
Money doesn't rule me
Nothing does truthfully
Except for the grace of my god that seems to get through to me
Dollar signs rule all these guys ruthlessly
And those the same guys that still try to talk to me
And they really think that money will get through to us
But it's the same thing that's keeping these people false to us
They think "more money, more power"
But no one ever bends down to smell the flowers
Flowers were here before money,
From the trees we made value
And no one wants to save the earth although that's really what empowers you
So forget the money, the fame, the power
Enjoy life's simple things so maybe you won't be a coward
See my eyes have shed tears see my eyes have shed cries
Over everything about which the world lies
Some people want the world on a platter
But when it comes down to it none of that even really matters.
Smoking joints cause you think it makes you smarter
Blowing out all your brain cells, can't even think, well
These are the things being fed to us and we just believe in it so much.
Greed is a deadly sin, no matter what world you in
It caused our grandfathers to be slaves and bounds us til this very day
And it's all that you kill for
So you'll have a redbone and no longer feel insecure
Looks can kill, money you steal
The rest of life no longer even seems real
And you're not a man of steel.
You can die like everyone else no matter how you feel
Y'all living life, y'all dying young
Y'all ain't nobody but burning souls just praying that you get to grow old
And yes my poetry speaks knowledge
So no matter what it is you tell me
The truth is all I speak, so learn to listen respectfully.
I says the best with my words hopefully
This will speak to your soul
And maybe eventually you'll respect authority
and do what you're told
