November 2014

Emeline opened her eyes groggily, squinting in the harsh light of the nurses office. She could see what looked like an angel looking at her, all blond curls and dimples, and for a second Emeline wondered if she was wrong about being in the nurses office.

  Did she finally die?

  Nope.

She shot up quickly, holding her head as she still felt a bit woozy, and decided that she hadn't died. She wasn't religious anyways, so it had been a stupid thought.

"The nurse had to leave for a second, but she told me to give you this juice box." A high voice said, and a juice box was shoved into Emeline's hands.

She smiled appreciatively, looking at the two that had accompanied her.

Things were starting to come back to her, and she recognized them two of the people she'd seen in the office.

The tiny girl and the blond boy.

After finishing her juice, a thought popped into her head. "How did I get here? We're halfway across the school from the principal's office."

"Jasper carried you." The girl said, and Emeline felt the urge to blush.

  She didn't.

Emeline wasn't a blusher, and blushing because a very attractive mystery boy had carried her through the halls was out of the question. But still, it was nice to know the name of said attractive boy.

  Jasper.

Emeline looked over at the boy, giving him a quick once over. It wasn't her first, but hey. He was incredibly attractive, though it looked like he hadn't slept in about 85 years. His blond hair flopped in his face like a golden mop, and Emeline swore she'd seen him before, though she didn't know where. "Are you in any movies?" She blurted out.

He looked to be in shock for a moment as the two locked eyes, but he started to chuckle. "No, I don't think I am." He drawled, and Emeline felt a shiver go down her spine. He had an accent.

  She was fucked.

"I'm Alice!" The pixie like girl said, interrupting Emeline's embarrassing thoughts. "And you're Emeline!"

"How did you know that?" Emeline asked, giving Alice a strange look. She hadn't told either of them her name.

"You were called into the office after you feinted." Jasper explained, a teasing smile on his face.

  "Oh."

The school nurse came in and cleared Emeline to leave, after Emeline complained a little, and Emeline started her walk back to the principal's office, flanked by her new acquaintances.

"So are you two like, a thing?" Emeline asked, trying to get a read on the two. Jasper almost choked and Alice was unable to contain her laughter at the question.

"We're siblings." "I'm gay." The two said at the same time, and Emeline couldn't help but laugh. Definitely not dating then.

"Are you guys related to the other people you were waiting with?" Emeline asked, like she didn't know that they were all  siblings. She'd finally put together that they were the people Jessica had been talking about. Being nosy was fun though, and she was willing to dig up as much information as possible. At least Jess would thank her.

"Yeah-well kind of. Edward, Emmett, and I are foster children, but Rosalie and Jasper are related to our dad." Alice explained, waving a hand around, and Emeline nodded.

Emeline supposed it must be a distant relation. "Which one is Edward and which one is Emmett?"

"The big one is Emmett." Alice answered again, and Emeline looked over to where Jasper was silently walking beside her. The way he moved was almost leonine, and as they turned back into the principal's office Emeline couldn't help but note how unnatural it would look on anyone else.

He looked like he was going to pounce at any second, and Emeline pushed down every thought that popped into her mind after that. It looked natural on him though, stalking through the hallways. Emeline noticed that he barely made a sound as he walked. She only wished she could be that graceful. Not that Emeline considered herself to be clumsy or anything, but she'd been told that she could be a stomper. Her aggressive nature apparently leaked into the way she walked.

When they entered the stuffy office two more people had joined the siblings, and Emeline assumed that they must be Alice and Jasper's parents. Alice bounded over to her mom and whispered something into her ear, causing the fair woman to smile.

She looked like Snow White come to life, especially standing next to her daughter.

The siblings got up as Emeline went to enter the Principal's office, and Alice waved enthusiastically at her while Jasper merely smiled. "See you soon, Emeline! We'll be great friends, I can see it now."

"Wait!" Emeline said, turning around and running over to Alice. "Can I have your number?" She asked, pulling out her phone.

"Making the moves on my sister?" The large one that Alice had called Emmett smirked, and Emeline merely rolled her eyes, handing her phone over to a slightly surprised Alice. Emeline hadn't even thought about asking the girl until the second before she did it, but it would be nice to have friends that weren't connected to her other ones.

The family left after the two exchanged numbers, and Emeline went in to the principal's office after that, preparing herself.

She didn't think she could use the "I fainted" card this time.

It didn't go too awfully though, and Emeline was just given a week of out of school suspension, with her mother called for the second time that day, this time to pick her up.
