54|He's the One

3rd person pov

"No No No No Nooo" Ace hissed "THIS ISN'T HAPPENING YOU SAID YOU LOVED ME! YOU WERE GUNNA MARRY ME"

"I do love you" she whispered he was on the verge of snapping she knew that "I do Ace"

"Ace..." Harry mumbled "no one is upset with you here please" Harry had regained who he was, who he had been before letting his humanity slip away "I'm proud of you Ace you turned out exactly how I'd hoped you would I knew you'd come to love her just how I had and love my daughter along with her"

Ace was so completely conflicted "no one has ever needed me like she had... I felt as if I were the only thing holding her to stand at a point like if I let her go it'd all be over that would be her end and s-she started to heal to get better t-then I became the dependent one  all the need she had for me was g-gone and I n-needed that feeling again" he whispered his bottom lip quivered "she never did need me after that"

"That's not true Ace I always needed you what would I have done if you were gone?"

"Manage" he croaked out "d-did you ever love me? Really and truly Alexis? Did you ever look at me like how you look at him?"

Alexis looked at Harry and swallowed hard "I did love you Ace I do love you" she licked her lips "b-but not like the love I have for Harry... he's my soul mate I could never love anyone how I do him but I do love you it-it's like a growing sort of love when you grow to love what's best for you"

Ace ran a hand through his hair "I was a convince then?"

"That's not what I mean"

He rushed at Alexis and snatched her from Harry's arm and shoved her against the wall pressing her shoulders into the drywall "I never asked much of you I gave you everything I had... s-sure at first it was a duty, a job I had to do but I love you I want to touch you and kiss you and make love to you" he squeezed her shoulders "you never wanted that"

"Ace... Ace let her go I hurt her already she doesn't need another injury" Harry stepped forward

Ace shook his head and slowly he slipped his hands up toward her neck "you were gunna marry me" he whispered

"I was" she agreed "but I can't"

He's eyes stung and his head throbbed "w-why?" He was ready for that last stab through his heart that last plunge in his chest

"Because I love Harry"

Before he could control himself he encircled her neck in his hands starting to choke her "I NEVER WANTED ANYONE HOW I WANTED YOU" he screamed in her face his wolf strength making it an easy job to completely constrict her of anything

"ACE" he gagged as Harry wrapped his arm around his neck pulling him away from Alexis Harry held his tight headlock not tight enough to choke him really just hold him away from her "why would you hurt her? If you love her why would you hurt her?"

Ace wasn't listening he was pulling at Harry's arm

"You were DEAD" Ace howled

Harry shook his head "she would have been dead" he hissed in Ace's ear

Ace stopping at Harry's arm looking at her leaning over holding her neck which he'd violently bruised

"I don't know what to do" Ace murmured

"Be content that she's happy" Harry answered

"B-but I'm selfish... I want her happy with me" he let himself cry

"It's not your choice what makes her happy"

Ace yanked Harry's arm off and walked to Alexis ,Harry trailing on his heel, he placed a hand on her back "w-why can't you j-just be with me?"

"I'm sorry" was the only thing she could think to say

He looked at Luna was hidden behind a chair he looked back at Harry and fell on his knees "kill me" he closed his eyes "just... just kill me I can't think of any reason why I should live"

Harry looked at Alexis she stepped around Ace and held Harry "no one is going to kill you" Alexis's voice was a little horse it made Ace wince

"The other den what's become of it?" Harry asked

"Alpha runs both" he couldn't call himself alpha now that Harry was alive

"Then you take that land run it you're the Alpha make it your own den call it what you like, do with it what you please, manage it how you see fit" Harry licked his lips looking at Alexis she offered a smile he looked at Ace

Ace couldn't bring himself to look at them "why am I not being killed? Outcast?"

"Because Id have the same reaction as you Ace" Harry knew exactly what it's like having Alexis in his arms and he could fully understand anyone going insane losing her from their grip

Ace looked up at him he really thought Harry meant that he looked at Alexis he crawled to her and hugged her legs but his forehead on her thigh "forgive me... please please I-I didn't wanna put my hands on you I-I lost it for a moment"

She closed her eyes and her grip tightened on Harry's arm "I never expected anything like that from you"

He kissed her thigh "I-I wish we would have made love... j-just once" he squeezed her legs "so I'd at least know what I had while I had it" he realized he'd unwittingly wiped his tears onto her thigh he pulled away and wiped her thigh with his shirt

"Ace" He looked up she leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on his lips "you had me" she shook her head "that would have only made things worse"

He just took a second to commit her lips to his memory "you're right but... it would have been something I could live the rest of my life off of"

"I'm sorry I just can't do that" she said in a sad tone that made Ace feel as if he was just a pitiful, spiteful dog

"I understand" he swallowed hard "w-we could have been a family husband and wife m-maybe our own baby..."

"Maybe you should go" Harry cut in finding it increasingly hard to control himself

"I have no where to go I live here" he whispered

"Then I'll take Alexis and Luna and go maybe start packing your things" Harry guided Alexis to the door and grabbed Luna putting her on his hip "we'll be back in the morning"

Harry walked them out across the black top road into the woods walking to his mother's house for them to stay "daddy?" Luna looked up at him

"Yes?" He smiled

"Are you going to leave again?" She played in his long hair

"No never ever again" he kissed her head

Ace stumbled into the bedroom he wiped his face and opened the closet scuffing as he saw the boxes of Harry's things ,she hadn't thrown away a single thing he owned, he pulled out his suit cases the same ones he used to move in

He plopped them on the bed emptying his drawers he pulled open the last drawer and picked out his things his hands kept touching her beautiful lace things and he grabbed one of her night gowns he gripped it tightly and couldn't find the will to put it back he put it in his suitcase he zipped it up quickly and slammed the drawer closed sighing

He laid on her side of the bed bathing in her scent

3:57 am

He closed his eyes tightly

Why couldn't this just be a horrible dream... a nightmare
