I stepped over the fallen tree and kicked the grass as I walked today I had to train but that's okay Alexis was at work anyway so I wasn't missing being around her

I smiled widely just looking around at my den at the homes, at the families out, at the wolves just walking together couple most likely I could take over at any point now if my father decided to step down these would be my people

I got to the gym I opened the door and every head spun my way

"I heard you got a pup?!" Someone I'm not entirely sure who yelled into my general direction my father must have told them we planned to keep it between us, well at least that was the plan...

I rolled my jaw "when did you hear that?"

"Your father told Keith on patrol and Keith told blabber mouth Ethan" Keith is just too trusting and Ethan can't keep anything in

"Ethan of all people" I sighed deeply then shook my head but this is a joyful moment this is the moment I've waited to have all my life

I smiled "well yes if you must know I am to be a father" I nodded

"ALRIGHT!" They screamed and some howled for me my closest friends ,Ace and Terry, got up and grabbed me pulling me into a huddle they slapped my back relentlessly

"Where is she? is she coming here? Where's her den? She's purebred?" Questions flooded my way

The lads let me go and I stretched my arms out after their attempt to crush me "She's at home we live out of the den she's got a human job" I scratched behind my neck "she's not purebred no" I'm not lying only leaving out details that's what matters

"Well when are you bringing her in? Bet she reeks of you" Ace chuckled

"I'm not bringing her in for awhile yet not until she's more heavily pregnant" I nodded "anyway ladies are we gunna work out or what?" I pushed through to the weights but they gathered around me I rolled my eyes

"What?"

"We knew there was a girl what we didn't know was she was your mate why didn't you tell us?" Terry crossed his arms that were gazed in sweat

"She was stubborn at first didn't wanna give in to me but I got her" I smirked

"Didn't wanna- Man what you're the Alpha what den is she from that she didn't know that?" Ace growled

I let my arms slack "she's not from around here she's from a different den she had no idea"

"Well how'd you meet?" Why are they asking so many questions I've got to remember what I'm telling them to relay to Alexis and just can't lie more than necessary I hate to lie

"I'd just gotten out of a fight with the other den" I tilted my head toward their land "I was in wolf form and dragging myself on the side road she was driving she pulled over and picked me up she stitched me up and everything that's when I knew she was the one she didn't know me and stopped to help me what could make a better mother?"

"Oh she's a nurse then? high in the rankings?"

I cleared my throat "uh no she's a makeup artist she lived on the very edge of her den she's was... pretty poor actually she couldn't afford medical school"

Faces changed "you're with... the poor? you're better than that" I snapped my head to the face of an omega

"What?!" I dropped the weight making the ground shake "what'd you say about my mate?!" I growled "what right do you have to say anything about my mate?!" I hissed my canines enlarging
