"Here" He said silently and took off his jacket, a deja vu but this time it was the real one offering his jacket to cover her up and wrap an arm around her. A shy smile appeared on her face and she nuzzled against him. Their walk would continue like this as she remained close to him, walking down a path with rocks and water underneath them. There was a river near by and some lines of water escaped from their path. Dorothy had pulled away from Sue and walked around the river, enjoying the peaceful sounds of the night.
"Be careful" He said in a rather louder tone for her to listen but right after his warning a yelp cut sharp the silence and he widened his eyes. Dorothy slipped on one rock and fell to the river with a sudden splash.
"I told you to be careful... " He murmured, rushing towards her and helping her up before leaning close to see if she got hurt. Her clothes were all wet but that was the least important thing for him right now. Her knee had a wound and she let out a silent grunt before leaning in to hold it
"Don't touch it... " He huffed and rolled his eyes before raising her up on his arms to carry her back home. His worried expression remained while walking through the bushes. He had warn her... Why was she so careless?
"I'm sorry.... " Dorothy said silently and looked at him, knowing she was the one who messed things up.
"The next time I'm sure you will be more careful" Sue responded with the same tone he used to cheer her up after every challenge she was failing and once he arrived to the house, he pushed the door open with his foot. He guided her into her bedroom to place her gently on the pink color covered bed and slowly pull himself away from her.
"Stay here... I will go get something to wrap the wound" With that, he hurried out of the room and inside one of the many bathrooms the manor had, to grab a gauze and water to clean the wound. After walking fast back at her, he looked at her and slowly poured the water on the wound before wrapping it with the gauze.
"Here.. Now... Rest okay? " He looked at her and she gave him a nod with a small smile on her face. He was so sweet and she knew he was hiding it all along.
"Thank you... " She replied and laid back on the pillows, looking at him as he stood up and started walking
"I..have to go"
He murmured before he open the door, he turned his head around to look at her and bowed his head
" Have a good night, princess"
He continued and left, leaving her with a questioned expression on her face. She always questioned the fact he was calling her like that but never got an answer. It was cute and made her feel precious to him.
With the minutes passing, Dorothy couldn't stand the dead silence of her room so she decided to stand from bed and find him once again. Her hand knocked thrice onto the door before he murmur a silent 'come in'. "I thought you would be sleeping " She commented only for him to turn around and look at her.
"I'm not tired , yet... Did anything happen? Can't you sleep?" He sat on his mattress and his eyes pinned on hers.
"No.... I was thinking... If I could stay here" Even though she was fully blushed he only scanned her form before he answer. Her sentence wasn't a question neither needed an affirmation.
"Sure... The bed is right here, princess " He stood up and sat on his small desk. His tone was as always cold.... not holding any emotion to slide out of his lips.. but that didn't bother her. What did though, was the fact he wouldn't stay by her side. With a small pout, when she sat on the bed, she looked at him and frowned
"Can't you come too? I can't sleep... "
"How am I supposed to make you sleep then? If I come nothing will change, I can just sit here and rea-" He had been eventually cut off by her as she almost yelled childishly
"Just come! " The girl pulled him back to the bed and make him let a long huff as he followed her and laid down. He couldn't do anything else since he knew her too good to let her be, she would start crying if he ignored her. Sue took a short breath. Her head almost rested onto his torso and her arm crawled around his slim form, as he gave her his hand to lay on in order for him to be able to still read his book. She was typically using him as a pillow. That's how the whole night passed by and...he wouldn't sleep, so he had to stay there only to not wake her up and wait for the morning to come.
His eyes were closed, the book he once held was laying on top of Dorothy's hand and his thoughts started to run once again. Memories of his mother, how much he loved her back then but.. As much as he loved his mother, he hated his father. The difficult days he passed by with him in the house but..... These memories started to fade away and only darkness surrounded his mind. He remembered the deal. The deal he and with Priscilla one day. He remembered that he threw away the memories and feelings he felt for his family only to become who he was and protect Dorothy even if that meant he would have to trap her inside the mansion again and again.
