don’t know what for. You can just stay here and invite Dillon over to hang
out. Don’t mention this to him cause I don’t think Mandi wants him to
worry about it until she knows for sure what’s going on.”
“Okay,” he told me. “Be careful, I love you.”
“I love you too,” I said giving him a hug and a kiss before I left.
I set off for the hospital going s fast as I could go without going over the
speed limit or getting pulled over. It seemed like forever before I finally
reached the hospital and parked Josh’s car as close to the doors as I could
get. I took out my phone and dialed Mandi’s number.
“Hello,” she said answering in the middle of the second ring.
“Where are you,” I asked her.
“I’m in the waiting room,” she answered.
“Okay, I’ll be right there,” I said hanging up my phone as I walked into
the hospital. Mandi tried standing up as I walked into the waiting room, but
I rushed over to her and sat down by her and her mom so that she didn’t
have to stand.
“Why are you here,” I asked. “What’s going on?”
“Well, I started having a hard time focusing and my hands are swollen so
my mom called Dr. Bradshaw and she wanted my mom to bring me here to
see what’s going on,” Mandi summed up.
“So what are doing now,” I asked.
“Waiting for test results,” she sighed.
“Mandi,” a voice said from the entryway of the hospital waiting room.
All three of us looked up to see who was there. It turned out to be Josh’s mom.
“Marilee, what are you doing here,” Mandi’s mom said.
“I’m working tonight,” Marilee, Josh’s mom, answered. “What are you guys
doing here?”
“We’re not really sure,” Mandi answered.
“You girls stay here while I go talk to Marilee,” Mandi’s mom said standing
up and walking out into the hallway with Josh’s mom.
“How long does it take to get freaking test results,” Mandi grumbled covering
her face with her hands.
“I bet that they’re working as fast as they can,” I assured her.
At that Mandi started crying, and all I could do was hold her.
Dillon
“You know you and me don’t hang out much anymore,” I said to Josh as he
was putting Call of Duty into his play station.
