Wooden Right Hand:
Wooden Left Hand:
This is my right hand (primary source) which was created using 12 Derwent skintone watercolour pencils and this is my left hand (primary source) which was produced by using shading pencils and a Specialist watercolor palette. These two pieces were inspired by the wooden material of my violin and the color shades of both my violin and recorder. These images of wood grains (secondary source – Google 20/1/18) inspired the textures and shapes in my pieces. I created these hands in this way to show how when playing a musical instrument, the body of the musician and the instrument they are playing become one with the music.
