On January 2016, I found this surreal image of a toast building falling apart and so to add the theme "Pulled Apart" to it, I drew a construction machine (Direct observation) to pull slices of toast apart from the toast building with its hook. I segmented the image into four quarters. The quarter on the top left was produced by using black, green, lemon, brilliant blue, brilliant yellow, and red inks. I mixed brilliant yellow, red and green inks together to make a shade of brown. The reason some slices of the toast are black and white is because I wanted it to blend in with the quarter below it that was sketched using a 0.7 mm lead pencil. The top right quarter was painted using Faber-Castell water colors. In the bottom right quarter, I was planning to use Carre chalk but I disliked the outcome so I covered the quarter with a black piece of paper and drew on it with a white Faber-Castell pencil to create a contrasting effect. I also added toothpicks and thread because that's how I perceived the toast building; it looked like it was supported by toothpicks and rope.
