Ch 22- Games of Heart-- Jealousy & Rage

"Rina please arrange for the meeting at Richard's study" I said.

"But Mam.." she said I cut her off "Rina please do whatever I told you" and hang up.

Everyone was staring at me and I felt myself blush but I could not let Richard go in his current state.

As soon as we were done with the lunch Richard moved to his study and soon I heard Rina entering along with some people wearing black tux entering. Thinking of refreshment I asked and helped Loyd to prepare some  Italian pasta, bread, salads, wraps, chips, and cookies. Once all was done I led them to get those refreshments in Richard's Study. Once all was kept I asked Maria to bring in healthy sandwiches for Richard. As everything was being laid out I didn't notice who all were presented. But when I was about to gesture them to start I noticed that Ivan was seated next to my husband.

When all items were served I curtsied and moved out of the study as fast as I can. I walked to my room thinking what Ivan was doing here. I was expecting Richard to come back in foul mood which was again not good for his health.

As I was pacing in my room I heard my room door opening and Richard entering. He looked at me and asked "Evelyn why are you tensed?"

"Richard what kind of meeting was that and why was Mr. Carlos here?" I asked.

"Well to answer you that I actually got a good deal and Ivan Carlos is going to partner with me for my dream project," He said smiling.

"But you said he was from Mafia..." I said when he cut me off.

"Evelyn.. initially even I thought I would not accept the deal but as we got to discuss it's going to be profitable for my business. As for him being in Mafia is not going to put anything to risk because as per the contract he is going to invest his legit money in the business and bear the investment and marketing cost while I work on the idea and I will be the sole person responsible for this project he just wants to be a silent partner and he will be my 60-40% partner and I verified the contract with my lawyer there is no deceit" he explained.

"I want you to be careful Richard" I said recalling my last encounter with Ivan. I was worried he is back for revenge.

After 2 days Dr. Ryan gave clearance that Richard is recovered fully and Richard resumed office. He came late in the night. I waited for him to come and have dinner.

"Evelyn why are you up this late?" he said.

"I was waiting for you. Shall I serve you dinner?" I asked.

"No I had it in office" He said and went to refresh. I went down and packed food to keep in the fridge when he came back and asked "Evelyn did you eat?"

"No" I answered and kept packing the food when he took bowls of food and went to heat the food in the micro oven and made me sit in the chair.

"Evelyn I am sorry I forgot to tell you. But please eat your dinner. I don't want you to ignore your health" He said.

"Richard I am not hungry" I said.

"Precious I know how hard the past days have been for us. I know I have not been able to spend time with you. But I promise I will as soon as this project is done we will go for a vacation" he said.

I nodded and said "Richard I am thinking of going to university rather than online courses".

"Fine go ahead Evelyn if that is what you desire" he said smiling.

I got ready and made my way to the university. I paid my fees and went to collect my schedule when I saw Principal and Ivan exiting the office.

For a moment I thought he will stop by but when he continued to move out. I saw a professor joined him and Principal went back to his office and the professor kept explaining places to him. It seemed like he was touring him. I asked the brunette in the office "Who is he?"
