SUMMER CAMP!

kenzie walked inside the girl's cabin.
"oh hey kenz..." lauren awkwardly smiled.
"hi." kenzie has a grin plastered on her face.
just like johnny, her hair was wet and not too messy, she did have some mud on her legs but not too much either.
"what's up?" kenzie questioned.
"you should clean up first." annie laughed a little.
kenzie laughed as well, "okay."

kenzie sighed, she waited for him to show up.
"hey." hayden quietly said.
he sat down beside her on the bench. "i know.." kenzie started, breaking the awkward silence the flew around them.
"it's okay, i promise you- it's fine to like her instead." kenzie continued, hayden nodded and bit his lower lip.
"listen, our time together was amazing. thank you for everything, hayden. i'm keeping everything you've given me." kenzie added on and turned her head towards him.
"thank you so much, kenzie. promise this won't get in the way of our amazing friendship?" hayden asked.
"of course it won't get in our way." kenzie and hayden shared a friendly hug.
"see you tomorrow." hayden stood up and walked back to his cabin.
kenzie sat there for a bit, now..
she needs to know how she feels about johnny.

did you like what i showed you?
kenzie groaned hearing her phone ding.
rolling over, she picked it up.
after reading that it was from johnny, she immediately sat up.
KENZIE
ofc
JOHNNY
wanna go again when it's not raining?
KENZIE
we won't have time
JOHNNY
we can sneak out or use our free time, dummy
KENZIE
tomorrow night, then?
JOHNNY
sure
KENZIE
do you actually have a thing with avery or?
JOHNNY
no, she's a friend that i won't be seeing anytime soon
KENZIE
wdym
JOHNNY
maddie scolded us, we can't cross paths.
KENZIE
oh, sorry to hear
JOHNNY
it's fine, i have all of you guys
KENZIE
but don't you wanna see avery too?
JOHNNY
she has a big group of friends, she'll probably forget about me anyways
KENZIE
why were you holding hands with her then?
JOHNNY
no reason
KENZIE
ok then. i'm going to bed. goodnight.
JOHNNY
