"Okay, actually that's not true. You just feel that way because I sleep so close to you." Bruce chuckles as he argues with me about him taking up all the room in the bed when we sleep together at night, which has been happening...more and more often. I stand in the hall while Bruce stands ahead of me, eyeing the cup in my hands. A grin stretches across his scruffy face as he gives me a teasing look.
"I don't have a problem with you sleeping so close to me. Only when you're pushing me off the edge." I joke, winking at him as I take a sip from my sweet tea.
"I think we're all geared up and ready as soon as you two are." Stark says as he peaks his head out from the door that leads to the giant "hulk room" Tony had made a year or so ago. Bruce and I look over at him, nodding.
"Okay. We'll be in as soon as I finish this sandwich." I say, picking up the half-eaten chicken sandwich I'd gotten from a take-out place down the street from Stark Tower. I dropped by there earlier to get Bruce and I some food while he and Tony were putting things together. I desperately hope that somehow food makes everything about today tolerable.
Bruce sticks a fry in his mouth, looking at me intently as I take another bite of my sandwich. "So...tell me more. I feel like there's so much more I still need to learn about you. I know you...lost your parents, but, do you have any other family you're close to?" Bruce asks. I raise my brows at his sudden and rather deep change of subject. I'm surprised—but okay with it.
