My Time

"Hmm... I wanna stay with you forever! Shhhhh, you don't have to say anything," next thing I know, I feel saliva on my lips. "Kissing me so soon?" I peek through my eyelids to find my disgustingly adorable pit on top of me, giving me morning kisses.

"Damn it Chopper," she gives me her puppy eyes with a wagging tail, knowing full well that I can't get mad at her. The birds sing as the cold autumn air rushes in from the cracked-open window. Freezing, I wrap myself in a burrito and close the window as well as turn off the TV that I had forgotten, in the middle of some sappy romance story that I had no interest in. "Nothing like Aston's bone chilling weather to wake you up first thing in the morning" I say.

Aston is a unique city, filled with dreamers. A "city for change" if you will. Each city in this country has their own "themes"; a strive for eternity while maintaining its change, ironically. The neighboring cities, Alaric, Fàlia, and Dérich prioritize technology, theater, and arts respectively; with Aston being the center, combining the three. The further cities differ based on region locations, the intricacy of the waterways in Ocean Blue to the levitation technology over by the mountains in Volka. The cities barter mostly, actual currency has little use until paying for manual services, to which is also be negotiable.

"Good morning, Jungkook. It is currently 5:30, and is 10 degrees outside. How else may I help you today?" my Xi sounded. I had traded some of my handmade antique collection for it. "That's everything, thank you" after excusing itself, Chopper squirms and starts running around the apartment. Noticing her behavior, I simply stated "Xi, open the doggie door" since she probably needs to go outside. The neighborhood is quiet for the most part. My place is a good few stories tall, so during the summer I get that pleasant breeze, but it also makes it rather cold during the autumn and winter seasons.

"Wanna take a jog before school?" Without a second thought, Chopper runs to get her leash as I get dressed in black joggers, neon running shoes, white shirt, and a dark grey running jacket. I ate some buttered toast before taking the Sky Elevator down.

I take the leash and she starts running in circles, then impatiently sitting, waiting for the leash to be attached to her collar. There's not much in life that I can control, so I control what I can which results in a healthier physical lifestyle. Can't say the same for my mentality...

"Come on Chopper, let's turn back. I have to get ready for school... and stuff" stuff meaning watching at least two more episodes of my favorite supernatural series. Ignoring me, she only stops running when her leash ran out, but intensely starts barking. "What's gotten into her? She was fine a second ago..." I start to go over if I missed anything from her training some years ago. Not a second too soon, bats fly out from the house next to me. And me being the slightly scared, slightly not type, I slightly shake... only slightly.

I gaze into the building, which doesn't look abandoned at all. "I didnt know we had bats... did I run too far?" What breaks my overthinking is my dog's barking... in the distance. "Chopper? CHOPPER!" I sprint after her, wondering why she would run off, or how I even let go of the leash. "Damn it Chopper, where are you" stopping to catch my breath, I can no longer hear her barking. Not once, since she was a puppy, did she run off... even when I took her out on walks without her leash.

She's a smart dog, she wouldn't run off by herself for no reason. A stinging sensation stabs my eyes as some foreign liquid runs down my cheeks.

"It wasn't supposed to rain today."
