HG28. "Put the glass down."

Chapter Twenty Eight

"Okay na ba yung suit mo for the wedding, Seth?" Anikka asked Seth, who was eating his spaghetti. Seth nodded. "Teka, may shoes ka na ba?" Anikka asked again. Umiling naman si Seth. "Seth, bukas na yung kasal, bakit wala ka pang sapatos?"

"Hihiram na lang ako kay, J." Seth answered once there was no more food left in his mouth. "Diba, tol?"

"Sinong maysabi?" I asked.

"Sige na tol, ayokong bumili. Isang beses ko lang namang gagamitin eh." Seth answered.

I chuckled and nodded. Anikka handed Seth a glass of juice. Tumayo siya tapos kinuha yung mga pinagkainan namin, tapos pumunta na sa may lababo para maghugas.

"Napakaalaga talaga ni Anikka." I mumbled.

"Syempre." Seth proudly stated. "Kaya mahal ko yan eh."

"Cheesy." I teased. "Ang swerte mo kay Anikka, tol."

"Sus," Seth smirked. "siya ang maswerte sa akin."

"Conceited!" Anikka protested from the kitchen sink. I just laughed as they bickered and fought about who was lucky. I admire this kind of relationship.

The one with you can fight playfully, but at the end you'll just say you love your partner more than anything else and laugh. When you can joke around but somehow, you're love for each other is serious.

Ugh, hopeless romantic.

"Ikaw, J?" Anikka asked once they stopped 'fighting'. "Are you ready for tomorrow?"

I sighed and nodded.

"Mukhang may problema ka ha?" She asked. "Si Kath na naman ba?"

I sighed. Kath.

We haven't spoken ever since yesterday. I'm still at Seth's house anyway, kaya hindi ko pa siya nakikita.

"Isipin mo na lang ng test yun," Anikka spoke up. "maybe she wants to prove something."

I just nodded. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang isasagot ko sa kanya.

"Here," she muttered. "drink your meds para makatulog ka na."

Again, I nodded and took the tablets from Anikka's hand.

"Don't worry, J. Everything's gonna be okay." she stated with a smile.

Everything's gonna be okay.

"Tol, sasama ka pa ba sa party ni JC, mamaya?" Seth asked as he drove. Idadaan niya muna ako sa condo ko bago siya pupunta sa office. Hindi na ako papasok ngayon, hindi ko yata kaya. Nilalagnat pa rin ako, tsaka wala talaga akong ganang magtrabaho ngayon.

"Oo naman," I answered. "there's no way I'm missing JC's last party before he's officially tied up."

"Sure ka?" He asked. "Kaya mo na?"

"I won't be drinking anyway," I answered. "basta dadating ako."

He nodded and stopped in front of the building. I thanked him before getting out of his car and heading to the building. I already called someone to pick my car up, and I'm sure nandito na yun.

Pagkadating ko sa unit ko, nagulat na lang ako nang nakaupo si Mama sa sofa habang umiinom ng juice at nanonood ng tv.

"Ma?" I called her attention. She immediately stood up and engulfed me into a tight hug when she saw me.

"Anak naman," she mumbled as she pulled away from the hug to look at me from head to toe. "ano bang nangyayari sa'yo?"

"Ma, I'm fine." I mumbled and walked towards to sofa to sit. I leaned back and closed my eyes.
