"today we'll be d-" the teacher starts talking but gets interrupted by the boys walking in
"sorry we're late" Jonah says
"okay please talk to me after class" the teacher says when they sit down
"is anyone sitting here?" Jonah asks pointing to the empty seat next to me
"yup"
"oh im sorry" he says sadly
"chill im talking about you sitting there but I mean if you don't wan-"
"ill sit" he says quickly sitting down
I laugh as the teacher continues with the lesson

"sorry are we late again" Jonah says as he, Zach, and Daniel run in the classroom
"just sit down" the teacher says
I laugh as I continue writing the notes again
"What's so funny" Jonah says standing in front of me
"Oh nothing..." I say continuing writing the notes
He sits down and Daniel taps my shoulder
"Yeah... wait when did you sit there" I ask confused
"I made him switch with me just for a few minutes I just wanted to apologize for earlier"
"No no it's fine I actually should apologize. I felt so bad when I walked away... it's just we just started being friends again and I just rather be friends for like at least a couple months and then see what happens"
"I understand just know I'll be waiting for you"
"Okay" I say awkwardly smiling and turning back around
"Hey Nicole can you come up here for a minute" my teacher asks
"Yeah whats wrong" I say as I get to her desk
"So as you probably know you're really good in this class and you're actually one of my best students all around and I was wondering if you could tutor some kids that are struggling"
"Of course... when and who"
"Um I don't know you'll have to find out from them also I'll tell you when I talk to them about it they just have to agree"
"Okay" I say sitting back down
"Now can I see Jonah, Zach, and Daniel up here please"
Oh no are these the people it's going to be so awkward
