Snap. Crack
It was a cold and windy night
As I mused that it had been a while
Since the last Old Lady fright
I wondered where she had gone
Had she found someone new?
But I see a shadow creeping along the patio
And I know the thought is untrue
Slowly edging my way towards the door,
I am gripped with such an interest…
How is it that after all this time,
I somehow kind of missed this?
But the shadow was not alone...
For she, her twin, and my neighbour Sheila
Were having a party on my patio in the summer heat
And knocking back some hard tequila
As I pull up a chair, the tone changes and
I know that I am not welcome here as
Three pairs of eyes bore through me-
Apparently they do not want to share
The Old Lady rises from her chair
And Sheila’s body shakes as her eyes roll back
The twin cackles and her hands reach towards me
Just as blinding lightning cracks
I am weak and disoriented
As I wake up in a hospital bed
I have no memory after the lightning
Just a throbbing pain in my head
