Peter stays in the fetal position for an hour of two; he can't tell. Finally, finally, the bear finishes its meal and leaves. Peter rises and brushes himself off. He breathes a sigh of relief. I've made it. He smiles, a little prouder of himself than before, and walks away from the pool.
