Love stories show how amazing it is
To be in love
They show walks on the beach at sunset
They show kisses under the stars
They show dancing and smiling
They show the sparkle of eyes when you see the one who makes you happy
They show how happy you can be
But they don't show how unhappy you can be
They don't show the bad
They don't show the fights
They don't show the jealousy
For some they don't show the discrimination
They don't show the drama
Only the romance
And they definitely don't show what happens when you fall out of love
Or even worse, when your partner does
And you're left picking up the pieces of your life
They don't show you crying into your pillow at 3 am
Stifling your tears so no one hears you
They don't show the scars on your arms and thighs
They don't show when you start to feel not good enough
When you start to feel fat so you skip a few meals
Then you skip a few meals everyday
You whittle down to nothing
But its okay because maybe now you'll be good enough
You already feel like nothing so why not become nothing?
