Chapter XLIV

I beat them all a few more times, before I decided that I should possibly take Robin to bed. Poor thing was tired and sick. I sighed knowing that she should've been in bed this entire time.

"Try to get some rest love," I assured pressing a kiss to her cheek. She snuggled into the pillow and was out quickly.

I walked over to the desk and turned on the computer. I sighed when the video I had snuck in to make was on and full screen on it.

I deleted the video and pulled up the camera to record. "Hey baby," I smiled happy that I was doing this, "I have to be quiet cause you're sick and asleep and I don't want to wake you up.

"I noticed you kept watching that goodbye video, and I didn't want you to watch it anymore. So I decided while you were asleep, that I'd make you one where I'm not saying goodbye.

"Because I will never say goodbye to you ever again. At least not like that anyway. You're my sweetheart and you mean the world to me.

"That's why I left to begin with. I didn't want to hurt you. I didn't want what happened to happen again, and I just wanted to make sure that I could control this fire in me.

"It's getting to the point where I'm no longer able to just sent it out. I have to control it. The emotions are too strong now.

"But I think I have it. I think that I'm leveled now, and that I'm able to make this promise to you.

"Robin, I promise that I will never leave you again. And I can only hope that I won't hurt you ever again, and that I can keep up this promise. You are the love of my life, and I can't imagine being with anyone else," I smiled, but I wasn't smiling at the camera. I was smiling at the sleeping form on the bed. 

"You're such a beautiful sleeper, love. So innocent and sweet. You're beautiful, and not matter how many times I tell you, it will never be enough. You're the most beautiful woman in the world, and when we're apart- if we're apart again- I hope that you can watch this, and it bring you comfort that I will always come back to you no matter what happens," I smiled into the camera. 

My eyes darted over to Robin as she tossed and turned in the bed. "I think you're having a bad dream," I said getting up and walking over to Robin in the bed. I smiled sat on the bed next to a whimpering Robin. 

"Baby. Baby girl," I hummed softly as I tried to wake her. She snapped awake and gasped for air. "Fi fi? Wha- what happened?" She asked looking around. "You're in bed, and everything is okay," I assured. She sniffled and wrapped her arms around my neck. 

"Please don't leave me," She frowned. "Never," I smiled, "Lay down and get some more rest." "Oh- okay," She whimpered. She let go of my neck and laid down on the pillow. I pulled the blanket up to her shoulders and kissed her cheek. "You get some rest," I smiled. "Okay," She nodded and sniffled a bit. 

Once I was sure she was asleep, I walked back over to the desk and smiled as the camera saw me again. "I wonder if the mic caught that," I chuckled a bit, "You're so adorable. I should probably end this video so I can go and hold you while you sleep. I love you so much, Robin, and I will always be grateful for everything you've done for me." 

I shut off the video and labeled it "I love you". I turned closed the lid of the laptop and walked back over to the bed. Then I crawled into the bed with Robin, and- on instinct- she curled up next to me and fell asleep. 

I tried to stay awake to make sure that she didn't have another nightmare, but I ended up falling dozing off quickly. I was tired of just about everything, but it was worth it to sleep next to her again and again every night.
