Deep Thoughts in The City

Simple Thoughts

Trying to please crowds never did anyone any good,

If anything, it just seems to ruin my mood,

Readability and likability never brought anyone success,

Evidently, I'm a mess,

I'm just trying to be my best,

So I don't become a person I later detest.

I have never seen life outside of the horizon;

Don't know what's beyond the deep waters but

I know the seas hold secrets no one knows.

And still, I see many things at the horizon;

Sun sets and summers and safety;

And although I was far away from safety;

I still felt secure.
