Chapter 19

Chiron leaned forward.
"So?"
"She said I'd return it safely." I said
"Exactly?" He asked
"I shall go west and find the god who has turned. And see what was stolen safely returned" I said "that's about it"
I couldn't tell them about betrayal who is a friend that would. And oh yeah your going to fail.
"Traditionally you will need two companions." Chiron said
"Grover" I said Grover looked at me in surprise "if you want to"
"Of course"
"And you have a volunteer if you'll except her."
"Who would be stupid enough to volunteer to die?" I snorted
Annabeth suddenly appeared beside me.
"Gah don't do that" I yelled
"I've been waiting my whole life for a quest seaweed brain this is my chance."
"And I guess you have a plan" I said
"Do you want me to come or not?" She denmanded
"Sure." I said
"Okay" Chiron said "we can take you into national city but then your on your own."

I hurried and grabbed my suit and belt along with my gloves and one extra pair of clothes and my toothbrush.
The store loaned me one hundred bucks and I had about fifty from Bruce's present and then they gave me twenty golden drachmas. Chiron also Gave Annabeth and I a canteen of nectar and a ziplock bag of ambrosia squares.
"Hey" Luke jogged up "I wanted to say good luck. And I thought you could use these"
He pulled out a pair of sneakers.
"Maia" luke yelled
Wings sprouted from the heels. The shoes flapped in the air for a second before they fell to the ground.
"Thanks"
"Kill some monsters for me." He said and he shook my hand.
"Percy" Chiron said
"I won't be able to use these will I?" I asked holding up the shoes.
"'No"
"Hey Grover you want a magic item"
"Yeah" I tossed them to him
"I almost forgot." Chiron said "this"
He pulled a black ballpoint pen from his pocket.
"A pen?"
"Uncap it" he said
Three feet of razor sharp deadliness sprung out.
"Cool"
"And you can't loose it"
"What's do you-"
"Throw it" He said "with the cap on"
I capped the pen and threw it as far as I could.
"Percy we gotta go" Annabeth yelled
"One second I-" I felt something in my pocket and pulled out the capped pen "sick!"
I jogged to the car and we headed towards national city.

We arrived about twenty minutes later and argus let us out in the middle of the city right next to L corp.
"Well now what" I asked mostly to Annabeth.
She frowned
"Let's find a bus station." She said
We walked down an alleyway. I heard a scuffle I didn't think about it though.
BOOM
"What the hades was that" Annabeth yelled
"An explosion" I said
"Well duh" she said "come on it could be a monster we can't let it hurt morals"
"You sound like Bruce" I mumbled
"What" Grover asked
"Nothing"
We skidded to a halt near a park. People were screaming and running.
In the center of it all was a ray gun and a lady dawning a red cape.
